I have been flying for about 20 years... and I reckon you need to get into a plane. You understand the basic principals and you even explain them well. There are a few little tweaks or corrections that I would recommend, but basically you CAN fly.

great video- plus watching the other previous dead reckoning helped- but one question. Those wind speeds and wind direction you stated, well thats for ground wind speeds and directions? I know if one happens to be flying at 3,000ft, 5,000ft or 15,000ft the wind speeds and wind directions at those altitudes will be different that what is reported down on the runways etc. Are you using Taf's and Metars to get proper wind speeds and wind directions at altitude being flown?

Hi I am not Doofer911, but I will try to answer to your Q. For winds at different altitudes you can use wind charts provided from your national MET service. Also a bit quicker (and free) way is to use Sky Vector for flight planning, after filling your route, altitude etc. it will calculate automatically your flight log using the present winds. PS. TAF and METAR show you the weather at the airports, not on the route.

I love the way your airplane is steady and stable. I wish i could do the same. When i fly my airplane is crazy! Trim does not work properly goes up and down, Turn Coordinator moves left and right like crazy, altitude goes up and down like crazy. It is frustrating. Please give me some tips that work. )))):

Don't touch the controls! ;) Let the plane settle into straight and level flight then make gentle movements to control it.

real world airplanes never stay at a constant altitude while in cruise. They usually move up and down and you need to constantly continue to apply a little bit of trim. Or you could just put it on autopilot while on cruise like 90% of pilots do

you used winds from a metar instead of winds aloft.... you realize wind direction is different at the surface vs at altitude don't you....?
@Doofer911

Yeah but I purposely kept it simpler for people learning the subject.
@GZA036
@GZA036 6 жыл бұрын
well it's simpler... but also wrong... Dead reckoning doesn't work if you use the wrong wind direction. Looking up the winds aloft is not that complicated

@@GZA036 who cares, it about the concept, the audience can use there own wind figures.
