Thanks for this tutorial. Have you got a particular website you get your airport maps from (like at 12:48)?

True but it depends on their criticism.

Yeah, I stopped the video at this point. I need to learn accurate flight planning, not careless operation.

Angela Morley It says in the title that this is an FSX Tutorial and in the description of EVERY tutorial video I have a disclaimer explaining that I'm not a real pilot. If you want instruction for real world flying, go to a flight school.

@doofer911 I know you just averaged the metars which show surface conditions for the wind but is it possible to get winds aloft in this planner?

Nice video again! Just want to know why you use 105 kts for cruise speed ( calculation fuel usage per hour ) and after that, you use 90 kts for cruise ( for the length of flight calculation ). At the end, it changes the fuel usage during flight to 5.4 USgall to 4.7 USgall. Am I wrong?

I can't remember what I did in this video but I'm almost certain that I completely forgot to follow the documentation during the flight.

hi doofer911 i have crash my A2A cessna many time, until your tutorials now i am slow learning how to fly and it getting more enjoyable to fly so i just like to say thank you . the A2A cessna GPS how do i set it up for a ILS approach ??
Hello, hello ! Hi Doofer911, I watched almost all your tutorials videos since about a week and added a like for each. very well explained even if English is not my native language. You teach very well with plan and graphics. I learned many exciting things about aircraft, instruments panel and many others formula i.e. to manage my need of fuel and flights planning. Hurry with you I use now Plan G to plan my flights a very use full software. As I own two monitors this run like a charm... I have also the A2A C172 trainer a very well concepted aircraft. I wished to thank you very much for all your tutorials videos. That permit me to progress in my understandable about air navigation. Just a question about the heading gyro (directional gyro) and the drift along a flight (precess stuff). How to use the dedicated knob on the DG to correct the magnetic course ? I don't want to use the D key to simulate the correction but only want to use the dedicated knob. Is there enough to simulate a push on the knob or must I do to turn also the knob to correct the magnetic variation? . I don't know how this knob is functionning as it seems to be pushed only or also rotated. What is the best use of this instrument ? Perhaps a tutorial about magnetic variation could be interesting for VFR... Just one more idea. TVM again and stay in a good health away from illness. (Sorry for my so bad English.) Now one more YT suscriber ;-)

+gege212011 Hi Gege, thank you very much for your kind comment :) I don't know too much about drift but as for how it actually works, you need to rotate the knob on the bottom left so that it matches the magnetic compass (which sits on top of the instrument panel). I don't think they can be pushed to correct the heading gyro. I may do a video about it in the future, I'm thinking about doing some more theory style videos rather than actual flying.

+Doofer911 Ok that helped me to understand how to use this DG knob. I asked also the same on A2A forum and your answer reflect the same as the push action on the knob is not simulated in FSX neither on the A2A C172. That's only in real life the pilot must push the springer knob to enable the rotation dial and when the needed correction degrees are established manualy on the DG dial the knob spring back to enable the DG dial to rotate free in accordance to the heading. Sorry I don't explain very well but this push action is there in real life. I figured that was I might to do (pushing the knob) before rotating cause A2A push their simulation so close to RL that could have been the process on the C172's panel Lol... Anyway I'm very excited waiting your next tuto video to learn more about something I don't care already... Cheers

Are we always allowed to plan our flight through straight lines on the map? Suppose, not all the air space is allowed to cross as you wish, but I'm could be mistaken. Can we always just draw straight lines from one waypoint to another and follow them during the flight?
@Doofer9118 жыл бұрын
Yeah in the real world you would need to be aware of airspace restrictions and plan around those but if you're just getting started with navigation in a simulator, don't worry about it. I always see a simulator as a tool for learning so don't worry about all the real world "rules" until you understand and feel comfortable navigating.
