Dooley- Instrumental Clawhammer Banjo Version

Dooley! Such a fun song, I did a quick little instrumental take on it. It could use a bit more work to make it punchier but I like it so far. I'm in G tuning here.
I love how the sun happened to hit the drum of the banjo in this video, making it all shiny and glorious. GREAT tune. Honest question....What makes the banjo sound so unique, different from a guitar?

Overlong answer: Vibrations from the strings are sent to the body of the instrument via the bridge (the bit of wood or metal the strings sit on). These vibrations are then amplified and projected by a resonator (on a banjo, that's the skin of the drum head). Size and shape of resonator matters, as does how much air is behind the resonator. Air determines how free the resonator is to vibrate and for how long. On an acoustic guitar, the soundboard is a thin piece of wood with lots of air behind it, so it can vibrate longer - or have 'sustain' as it's called. A banjo has almost no sustain, because it is small and the vibrations are usually 'dampened' by putting a rag or something inside. So you get a short, sharp plucky sound.
