I always thought that action on the BFG should have been an alt-fire. I'm glad that play-changing mods can add things like that in (also being able to fire from a single SSG chamber with alt-fire another good one people have added).

Same. It's one of the few reasons I believe the "Doom Bible curse", which has befallen most, if not all other Doom Bible-based mods, is a mere myth. All we need is a few Doom Bible-based maps (not necessarily directly based on Tom Hall's ideas, just the theme is enough IMO), and voila! We can have something Tom Hall would've envisioned, and an enjoyable gameplay. That'd be the best of both worlds!

@@void_official404 Also, generally speaking, it's frustrating how few gameplay mods for GZDoom (and just about any other source port too) have their own mapset. Brutal Doom and Project Brutality are lucky enough to have their own mapsets. Wish more mappers would pay attention to other gameplay mods (especially Doom Delta!) as well.

Where can I find the download link for this "Doom 2" e1m1 wad? If you haven't released it already, you should. It's perfect... EDIT - This could be the start of a project that recreates the classic three episodes of "Doom 1" in "Doom 2", to utilize "Doom 2" specific elements (super shotgun; archvile, etc.) And *this* level would be E1M1...

@@IIRaZZoRII that would be awesome. That is why I love the PlayStation port so much, other than the music, is the DooM ll enemies within Ultimate DooM. E4M2 opening area on UV in PSX version is crazy. Imps & pinkies replaced by mancubi and revenants

man...this is 2022, there are doom's ports completely 3D, like "Doomsday" for example..camera 360°, models, objects...all in 3D, why still play with these 2D sprite models?! on the other side, music is real bad..forgive my sincerity!

it's not just about looks, there's more, like the feel of shooting, monster behavior, stylization and engine limitations, making maps have a specific design and so on
