"Maybe don't leave your soft spot so exposed" LOL. If they'd shown the intro to the fight, you would have seen that in the beginning it WASN'T lol. That fight is IMMENSE, the Icon of Sin starts out fully armored up and healthy and you spend several rounds of the fight blasting off his armor and then all of the flesh off of the front of his body. When you see him from the back as he's sliding off the building, you can see that all the skin and muscle of his back half is intact because YOU spent the last several minutes turning his entire front half into the hamburger state you saw lol. Doom Eternal is so good lol. I like that they included a few of the story cutscenes in this kill montage, to give a little context. The whole game is just stuffed to the brim with that kind of epic spectacle and furious/desperate intensity of mayhem. The DLCs have some pretty awesome setpieces and encounters too, and those weren't included in this video. I'm really glad you got to see the "you CAN'T just shoot a HOLE into the surface of MARS" line...it's just iconic, has become a total meme in the Doom community lol. And yes, though it doesn't show it...that's EXACTLY what the Doomslayer does lol. So good lol. Love these games lol. Eternal is really a fantastic follow-up to 2016's revival of the series, which is a masterpiece in its own right. :D

Those aren't guantlets, those are his bare hands. He got a Berserker perk which lasts 10 seconds which you absolutely slaughter demons with your bare hands. Doom has always been fast paced. Doom 3 made it more actiony and horror. Doom 2016 brought it back to it's roots. Best part, no reloading required but you do run out of ammo. If you kill with a chainsaw you're guaranteed ammo (the rainbow). Gory kills always drop health.

In Doom Eternal you're rewarded for fighting through, Glory Kills provide health regeneration, using the Flame Belch or other methods of lighting Demons on fire provides Armor Regeneration and using the chainsaw regenerates ammunition. This means all you need is demons to kill. The second goal B. Is that it's an attempt to recapture the fast paced combat style of the original 1993 and 1994 releases of Doom 1 and 2. Doom Eternal is essentially a Horror Game where you're the Horror show. One of the songs on the soundtrack is called "The Only Thing They Fear is You" in reference to your character, the Doom Slayer.

As brutal as all those kills are, when you work as hard for them as this game makes you, it's like the most satisfying thing ever. If you guys don't want to play the game, you should definitely check out some gameplay. They have a horde mode coming out, which is like an extra challenge mode for after you beat the game, and it is designed to bring out the most spectacular looking gameplay. It comes out on Tuesday and I have no doubt the livestreams are gonna start immediately.

I've been gaming now for 36 years and I can't think of another game that packs as much chaotic insanity and unrelenting ultra-violence as DOOM has. The last two especially were just crazy awesome. With the soundtrack and the game play you actually can come out of a session exhausted. It is so fast paced.

The chainsaw is more so a mechanic of the game than a result of a stylish kill. The game provides chainsaw fuel, which can be spent to retrieve ammunition for all of your other guns by chain-sawing an enemy. The larger the enemy, the more chainsaw fuel you use to kill it. Knowing when to spend your chainsaw fuel for more ammo for your guns is key to not running out of bullets and rockets - and thus being defenseless against an army of demons who want your head. The different colored drops signify the different ammo types. Game design wise the rainbow effect triggers the little kid inside us, kinda like popping open a piñata. We smack open a piñata for all the nice candies inside, except instead of sugar we get rockets and shotgun shells.

The gameplay use a rather active and organic way to make the player resplenish Ammo, Health and Armor You can find Ammo, Health packs and Armor shards through out levels, but they are limited and arn't that many of them. The real way to get these back is by...playing and killing. When you perform a Glory kill when the enemies are shining in Red they drop health, if they shin blue they drop ammo Performing a Chainsaw finish, will insta kill any none boss Demon( the bigger the Demon the more chainsaw fuel you need, your chainsaw can hold 3 charges and its one fuel charge per kill for small demons and 2-3 for larger demons) and make them drop a shitload of ammo You have a shoulder flame thrower "the Belcher", Demons on fire, drops pieces of armor constantly and they drop More of it when you hit them or kill them while on fire. These 3 ways of recuperating ressources, forces the player to be aggresive and bold in his tactics, to think tacticaly and just go in there. A more classical playstyle of shooting from afar doesn't give the best results, so these mechanics encourages you to be litteraly Balls to the Wall aggresive. Wich is the Core of Doom eternal gameplay. The game does a good job teaching you these, and even if you ain't a pro gamer, you can do some insane gameplay loops and be proud of yourself. Real pros gameplay are just insane to watch, revolving around quick weapon swapping and mobility( the character's mobility is also one of the Core mechanic of this game, you can double dash in any direction, use monkeybars to parcour and double jump around, so you're always on the move)

That video was a strange rundown of Eternal, but I like that it covered most of the biggest story beats, even if they may be incomprehensible in that state without context, haha. But yeah, it's one of those games so packed with stuff that you could get content out of it for a good while even if you don't play it yourselves. For a game/franchise where the story is basically optional, there's a LOT of lore and such that's interesting to dig through. In Doom Eternal, standard ammo drops are few and far between, couple this with the fact that devs purposely limited the total ammunition you can carry, and the only way to get more is with the chainsaw. Fun Fact: If you chainsaw or glory kill an enemy while they're on fire, you get armor as well.

So that line about this not being the only world doomslayer has brought to extinction, the earth that doom eternal takes place in is not the doomslayers original earth, doom is a multiverse, with hell being the only place that is connected to every universe at once, doom slayers original earth was taken over by hell, afterwards doomslayer went to hell to go on a killing spree, eventually being locked in a sarcophagus to prevent him from killing all the demons, which was eventually found and opened by humans messing with demonic energy

Fun Fact about doomguy: Before he was blessed by the serephim, he fought in hell for days and declined medical help even when it was life threatening. The doom games lore is pretty neat. The game design for the 2 most recent doom games is all about mechanics and game flow first. To be as fun to play as possible so the kill animations are made to be fast and as unintrusive to that design as possible. Since you will see them so often they wanted them to be as non annoying as possible.

When he chainsaw kills, the rainbow that comes out of the demons is ammo. Each color is a different ammo type. There’s a whole system to how you kill in DOOM! Most of these are glory kills, and when you glory kill, you get a decent batch of health back. The lower your health, the more health you get back from a glory kill. There’s the flame belch, which is a shoulder mounted flamethrower that burns demons and when you kill said burned demons, that gives your armor. Super useful against smaller demons and in crowds And then there’s the obvious method where you just shoot them haha DOOM combines style and tactics really well, and that’s what we love about it

Doom eternal is my favorite shooter game, it's very fast and frantic and I love that, I would love to see them react to the rise of the gods part1 and 2 dlc, as the final battle in hell is very epic.

the Kills are suuuper fast because its happening During Fast Combat. and you do it a Crap ton of times. so they made it short and impactful so it wont bore/annoy someone who has seen it too many times and keep the flow of combat going.

The rainbows come up because the chainsaw is a game mechanic to actively give you ammo because, as you can tell, you need a lot. The other glory kills don’t spew out ammo because that not what they are meant to do. And it is a rainbow because those are the icons of the ammo.

I am upset that this has been out for 6 days n I totally didn't know, lol I shoulda rung the bell, gotta do that now. But otherwise, it was awesome 2 see u guys react to the glorykills, as doom eternal definitely the most fun single player game I've ever played. Although the gameplay was a little sloppy as some kills were repeated n others were left out, but that's cuz there r so many different animations. Still cool that whoever made it got to show u most of the kills n the major cutscenes doe. U guys r awesome, n btw, those arm-breaking kills where u shove their own bone through their head r my favorite, as well as the ribcage splitting open and spines getting ripped out, lol.
