Also I agree with you guys, sometimes we dont need grand reasons and deep analysis to like something, sometimes things can be over the top and silly, but we can still like them a whole lot!

What’s crazy about this video is that everything Max0r says is technically true. The music actually does use Mongolian Throat Singing, all the story beats he brings up are technically canon, and the game is so well designed that it doesn’t need Ray Tracing, but it made a skin for one of the weapons just to showcase the fact that the developers put it in an already well made game.

He said it satirically but he does have a point about most big game companies shoving too many activity's and mechanics into their products. Creating A "master of none" situation, were the game becomes more of a hassle then a fun experience even if its enjoyable at times. Sometimes doing something simple, well, is better then trying to make something complex, that's just okay.

The only recent games I have that I enjoy playing are DMC5, Doom: Eternal, Hades and Elden Ring. I suck ass in all four, but the gameplay is really fun so I have an actual incentive to stick around and Git Good...

All of Max0rs content is the equivalent of a cocaine induced schizophrenic breakdown, and thats what makes it amazing. This man works 8-10 hours on 30-45 seconds of footage at a time. its why his videos take so long to make. This is literally his 9 to 5 and to think he spends a whole day on less than a fraction of the video is crazy. The effort is insane. I recommend his videos on Bloodborne, Metal Gear Rising Reveangance, Elden Ring, and when youre done with DMC5 he has a DMC5 incorrect summary you can watch.

All Max0r videos are just like this. Very fast paced and hyper over-edited, but reasonably informative (and also pretty funny). I'd definitely say it could be fun checking out some of his other stuff. I think most people know him for his Genshin video, and even though it's really outdated at this point, it's very funny. Some of his other stuff like Elden Ring and Bloodborne are also a great treat.

He does have a pretty good point honestly. Most AAA games are sandbox open world games where you can do a bunch of unrelated side content that doesn't really help beyond giving the player busy work if you think about it. I kind of respect the devs for trying to just do 1 thing really well. I remember an interview with the lead designers where they were discussing the game journalist scandal mentioned in this video, Just for context, the person reviewing the game was kind of a veteran at game reviews and for some reason Polygon decided to release clips of his gameplay and it was comically bad which obviously brings up the question of, "if your job is to review games and you claim to be a gamer why does it look like your horrible at said games?" But instead of jumping on the bandwagon of mocking this "expert" they said that if someone can't figure something out in the game that's on them. If someone is complaining that Doom sucks because the sniper rifle blows and they don't get you're not supposed to sit back and snipe all day, how can we communicate to the player not to do that? They tried to fing ways they can improve leading the playe so they will naturally want to play the game in a fun way. Which I don't think they 100% succeeded on that front. I feel they over tutorial-ized it and the best way to lead a player along is to make the player feel like nobody is holding their hand but that's a very positive attitude to have as a creator.

See this is a good showing of the importance of game play. Honestly this comes from a old school video game perspective because most old video games never really have that kind of story. So Especially for a classical gamer like me The game play has to be more important than anything else in the game. Like I don't go back to these games to watch the story honestly I go back to the games to play the game. Story especially nowadays is so easily accessible through KZbin and everything else that the value in seeing it from the video game is highly diminished. But you will never be able to know how it feels to play doom until you play duo because most of the experience comes from the Game actually comes from what you're doing in the game more than what the game is trying to tell you or show u
