The point of the platforming sections is basically training you to use it in the Monster Arenas, which both your commentary and footage shows is something that just didn't click for you. Proper use of the platforming and movement abilities turns those sections into what can only be described as an artform.

Yeah, it's a bit of pain to watch this gameplay...

Good game, but not even close to 2016. I found Eternal to be very annoying consistently.

it was a good game. not a great game. the entire story was very shallow, the fact that the game was now a parkour simulation and ammo and stuff MUST be obtained mostly by doing fatalities on enemies just killed for me. not a great game. yeah fight me

No fighting necessary. A lot of people share your sentiments. For me, it's my favourite game since Quake 3. My only gripe is that the story/lore was made even worse with the DLC.

this game was too gimmicky to be good

It's my favourite game to release since Quake 3 in 1999. I find it has a lot of depth to the gameplay. I get the same kind of exhilaration as I do playing tougher MegaWADS like Scythe etc
