I think this games story is going to take place around the prime of Taras Nabad. You can see many of the buildings, look exactly like the one's from Doom Eternal. This game may be how Doomguy came to be a legend among the Hell and Earth.

Man hoping to see more gameplay with Doom The Dark Ages soon. Some people are saying that one demon was the Doom Hunter just not destroted as we seen in Eternal. Plus we even have the mech in the Doom Fortress as well. If i had to guess Doom The Dark Ages is kinda in between Doom 64 and 2016 which would connect Eternal. Yet we never got a side campaign at the end of Doom 2016 where Dr. Hayden teleported the Slayer after he took the crucible. Seeing Hell in a Medieval type setting was pretty much like a downfall after Doom 64 which the Slayer stayed in Hell till the priest's encased the Slayer in his Tomb till Hayden found him in 2016

It's understandable not only the tone is serious it's the fact Doomguy was stripped from his powers and upgraded SSG. So with only his armor, violent intentions and less powerful weapons he began his journey through mars. This is the weakest version of Doomguy in his Doomslayer version. Eternal is still his strongest version.

I have not seen the new glory kill system yet but one strategic part of the old system is that it didn't just lock you into an animation it gave you s, you could set up glory kills and then use them to "dodge" a big rocket blast for example. More control = less potentially.

1:56 no way my favorite doom KZbinr just did the Nike slogan (if I added a gun to the game it would be a gun that when you push RMB doom guy will throw a bone(s) in the air and you can shoot them while they are in the air then it will target the nearest enemy, I got the idea from ultrakill) This was a test to see if you will see and reply to this comment too Edit: the way I feel like they're doing the glory kills is the way the modders did, how you can punch and kick people in brutal doom.

Since they have this flail now I was thinking about the flaming Morning Star in the Castlevania series, but instead of fire for the Dark Ages Flail it would be electrified or imbued with the power of lightning or something like that. Kinda like the Thunderbolt in Quake, or maybe the Mjolnir. Maybe something like the Mjolnir itself could be in it, or the Quietus from Hexen could be an idea too. But the idea of a Lightning / Electric Flail sounds cool to me as well.

This whole game gives me Quake original concept vibes. Like the game Id wanted to make back then but for whatever reason either couldn't or didn't. Now with Dooms resurgence in popularity and the opportunity to do so we may be getting the best of both worlds.

Since it's the realm of pure fantasy I'd love to see a double bit/bladed Battle Axe that you can be thrown and used one handed. Or maybe something similar to the Blades of Chaos from GoW where the weapon has chains on it, so you can throw it to skewer an enemy with it and then pull the enemy towards the player or the player towards the enemy where you could then do a shield bash or melee attacks afterwards.
