After a little more searching, I've found that "DamageType=0" is ballistic weapons, grenade explosions are "DamageType=1" and RPG's are "DamageType=2" Kind of strange that grenade and RPG explosions aren't considered the same type of damage... Edit: One of the developers informed me that the Crit % end distance in fact ISN'T the actual end of the crit possibility, it's just the end of the falloff. link to conversation: steamcommunity.com/app/1239080/discussions/0/2972902451440492810/?tscn=1607465084

Regarding the Mk17 CQC vs Carbine, that actually makes ballistic sense. The carbine has a longer barrel so it has more Foot-Pounds of force when it leaves the barrel. You're trading some ouch for mobility.

When a weapon has an "Mk" designation, like the Mk18.. it is pronounced "Mark 18". Gamers calling everything "emm-kay".

There's definitely some thing in the code that they don't bother showing you in the stats. I do plan on making a video for the weapons as well, but since they're starting to release new weapons, I'm thinking about waiting a little bit to get as many weapons in the tables as possible.

Off topic, but what do the different optics actually do? I did some testing of my own and I'm not sure if what I found is placebo or not.

Aside from making the gun less maneuverable & take longer to reload, they improve the crit chance, accuracy, and aim time. If you're interested, I plan on making a video & spreadsheet for scopes too, so that might be something to watch for.

Nice digging! What would you deem the best overall assault class rifle though? Or would you recommend changing around, based on the ranges in the mission?

My go-to rifle is the M16a4 with Mk318 SOST Ball ammunition and a either iron sights or the Dual Role Optic 1/4x. It's slower to move around than the carbines, but if you already have it out and ready and someone turns the corner on you, it has a burst-fire attack. Combine the burst fire's really fast 3 shot burst with the fact that the SOST Ball ammunition has 36 damage at point blank, it's almost an instant kill. So it has close range covered and is very accurate for long distance as well. The only drawback is trying to turn corners with it, which can be mitigated by either simply tossing a flashbang into the room or breaching charges. The Mk17 Carbine is really good too, but the 20 rounds per magazine compared to the M16's 30 really bugs me.

@@MitchellGodsend Yeah looking at all the numbers, the M16A4 seems like the go-to rifle. I do wonder however if the burst fire could more likely hit unwanted targets. Not sure if it always burst fires, because it does mention Semi-Auto in its description. I can't see burst fire being viable or safe in a CQB environment, especially if there are hostages involved, from a realistic standpoint. I'm mostly surprised by the lack of stats for the Mk18, but these things are bound change. Just kinda funny how the default weapon (with other ammunition of course) is the better choice. I've played some missions with the Mk17 Carbine it's definitely powerful. The rate of fire is its main flaw for me, but I can definitely see 20 round mags being a disadvantage as well. It has a lot of stopping power though. I'm curious as to how the stats will eventually unfold. The game's already a blast to play though!

How do the rate of fire on the ammo and the roundsPerSecondOverride in the attacktypes interact? If I'm reading things right it looks like all of the 5.56 assault class weapons use the same attacks from about 5 range out to max, and all of those attacks have a roundsPerSecondOverride that is significantly lower than the rounds per second on the ammo (7, 6, 2, or 1). Similarly both versions of the Mk17 share attacktypes. I suspect this means that the rate of fire in all but the absolute closest cases is meaningless.

The RoundsPerSecondOverride is an absolute override - it will always dictate the firerate. The devs want to make it to where they seemed like trained soldiers that will control their firerates to maintain accuracy instead of letting the weapon's stats control how it behaves. I'm really hoping they'll change it but they want to make the game "realistic" so... Probably not going to happen. You can go through and change all of the overrides to "0" yourself, though. Just backup the file before messing with it.

Gotcha. Are all of the times in milliseconds? Another interesting artifact of the attack types is that because the M16A4 has a fixed number of shots in the burst attack type it will require 2 burst attacks to down someone with any ammo but mk318. The other carbines take between 2 and 6 shots, so the probability of a single burst kill is much higher.

@@Stlaind I'm 99% sure they are - 1000 seems to be a full second. And yeah, the SOST Ball ammunition for all of the guns that have it seem to be WAY better than any other ammo type... I'm hoping they spread it out a little better and make them more situational rather than 'realistic' because as they are now there's no real reason to use any other ammunition than the one that does the most damage.

The first one was and I saw some talk (not from the developers) of people saying it'll be on Android in 2021/2022, so there's atleast a chance that it will be.
