I just did that same weatherstripping on my door last weekend. I could not get that push pin in on mine. I just used the 3m adhesive on it. Seems to work well. So far at least. I also used the closed door to help it setup.

Some of the comments talk about the lack of pin/screw holes. Beware there are cheap repos with no holes and more expensive ones with the holes that fit better overall. I bought a cheap one and ended up not using it because of poor fit and had to repurchase a better one. Another tip is to clean the surface as best you can before install. GREAT video by the way, that shows all the pitfalls one encounters.

Great Video. Love these short videos that are directed at smaller tasks. When you explain every detail and problem you encounter it will make life a lot better when I get to that stage of my build. All the videos I have watched I always seem to learn easiest way of what to do and hopefully not make any mistakes. Keep up the great work!

My weather strip did the same thing at the end near the vent window. I glued it taped it and shut the door over night. It finally seated.

Just thinking about how I might maintain progressive position (not stretched, not short). I think a dry fit then apply tape markers on the gasket and on the door at several milestone positions. Thanks for letting us watch over your shoulder as you do this work.

There is a small rubber pad on the back part of the door has a bunch of little black screws. The side one is the same screw. The forward push pin is way smaller with a flat top.

Barry, I recall someone telling me that perhaps one might need to use some solvent to remove the white powdery "release agent" from the seal base before applying adhesive. Not sure if that is the case here but it might explain the issue with the seal end coming unstuck. BTW I have the exact same issue. Re-glued several times without much luck.

I think you're supposed to apply the adhesive to the weatherstripping and door and then wait for it to get tacky before you install it, keeps it from twisting or popping up.

Undecided on the status for the red car. I haven't heard from the owner of the BP in a year. Not sure what's going on. I don't want to mess with it anymore.
