I totally hear you and agree with you that we shouldn't be filling up drinks, and that it is the job of the restaurant to fill up drinks and have everything ready for us .. but ... I still do it anyway if they ask because it's easy enough to do and I don't want to make a big deal out of it. If I do it, the drinks will be fresh, cold and flavorful, instead of watered down because it's been sitting there a long time. But that's just me and I don't really mind. Plus the workers are often overworked and I feel like I make their job just a little tiny bit easier for them and I don't mind.

I have verified with dasher support multiple times that this is against doordash policy and a violation of the store's contract. 711 tries it too. Support told me that if they insist on us filling the drinks, we are to deliver the empty cup to the customer or just take the part of the order we can get without the drink. That part where it says "may be required to fill drinks" is filled out by the store, not doordash.

It used to be a problem when wingstop wouldn't put drinks on the app. So we would only know if they had drinks by looking at receipt. Also wingstop app makes it hard to add a drink to your combo. Thats why you see lots of meals without drinks. Not because customer is rich like that. It happened to me when I ordered lunch ,i couldn't choose a drink the buttons , wouldn't activate.

Yes, so we have a restaurant here in North Carolina called firehouse. They asked you to fill the drinks, but just like you said, cross-contamination and somebody could get sick and ain’t not a job.

These lazy ass people in these restaurants.Damn Wingstop, all of their customers they have them a cup, But that's the customers own drink. That's on them, I don't think the customer would care anything about someone that been handling every restaurant door handle in a night putting their hands around where a customers mouth could potentially be. The Wingstop by me used to have is full drinks when I first started doing this. After I learned we are not to. I called there corporate and told them this is illegal and I would report them to the health department. It stopped immediately. They still try from time to time to have me fill it. I cross my arms and tell them it is their job and not mine. I did fill one and I made me a drink and did not deliver it to the customer.

We fill up drinks at panda express Wingstop local places like hip-hop chicken. They just hand you the cups and points you in the direction of the soda fountain😂😂😂 when I do it I don’t put ice in it so that they will call back and complain all purpose, and then find out who filled their drink

Yeah I used to work at Wendy’s, I was transferred to another store as a manager. The kid’s were SO LAZY. They made the Dashers make EVERY drink, I had them stop it immediately. I always filled the drinks when asked to, or made to, but it was because that way I can fill it to a proper level, and not overfilled so it bubbles out and gets all sticky, messy all over my car. Which happens all the time when the employees make the drinks. You have a EXCELLENT point though about the food safety part of it, we dont have sinks in our cars to wash our hands. So our hands won't be food safe. How are you supposed to tell the employee to make it themselves though without causing a conflict ?? I don't like to cause conflict at the resturant.

There's a Popeyes near me where you have to fill most drinks because they don't have a soda machine behind the counter. As a dasher, I would never order a fountain soda on any delivery service. Too risky no matter who fills it.

The way around this is simple. Tell them we are not allowed to due to OSHA rules, which is true. I haven't run into this in several months, but the last time it happened the guy said "Well, why has every other driver filled their own drinks all day long?" Uh, maybe because they're new and don't know any better. I had another guy say "It's in our contract with DoorDash" I said "No, it's not. It can't be because we don't work for them. We're independent contractors." Of course, he had no response. Some of these restaurant workers are just bullies who are unhappy in their s**t jobs.

NEVER fill the drinks. It’s the merchants responsibility to fulfill the order In its entirety. I always tell them this and they fill it no problem. Now Wayback burgers likes to argue saying it’s “their policy” and I juts say well it’s my policy not to do your job and I walk out without the drink. They don’t have combos so you can just mark item unavailable on the DoorDash app and customer gets refunded.

Wingstop DOES NOT ASK, They DEMAND. It’s total nonsense. They’re usually rude to DoorDash drivers and claim that it’s not their job to make drinks. If you work DoorDash delivery long enough you will see these rude characters get fired from all restaurants in nearly every town within the zones you work. I saw this one fool get fired from 14 different restaurants for being rude to everyone including drivers. He had a particularly bad habit of just handing drive thru packaged orders instead of delivery sealed orders to drivers and tossing cups on the counter to drivers to fill the fountain drinks. I always just smiled and thanked them, and would take one of several cups and fill it with my preferred fountain beverage taking time to let them see me place a straw into the lid and enjoy the cold refreshing soda in front of them as I walked out with the order and leaving the remaining empty cups on the fountain machine. That would usually stop the nonsense, after several deliveries… 😱😱🤣😂🤣💀
