DD is randomly adding more $ on base pay in Eastern IA. Pizza deliveries used to be $2 base all the time and now random orders are getting $6 and $4 base pay. Allowed delivery time has been cut shorter even more though as I only had 4 minutes to deliver 2 miles and 20 minutes to deliver 13.2 miles that included 5 miles of in town driving, and of course I was 4 minutes late even after speeding 5 mph over the entire way. Funny how the in app SPEED LIMIT warning has vanished as DD has drastically shortened allowed deliver by times.

Strongly agree. Base/ Per mile/ + TIP. I'm tired of the long miles here they are making us go. They added more areas to deliver so many offers are 30 plus miles and not even for a 3rd .33 cent a mile. I was platinum they pushed me off of that. 48% today. Great Video. Great information. Challenge: Suck it up for a week on EBT until your AR is at least 90, then let us know if you can tell a difference between Silver and high-AR Platinum. I usually hover in the mid 70s using EBT when it gets too low, but I spent a couple weeks in the upper 80s after peaking at 89 and noticed a considerable difference in the quality of offers I received. I've slowly dropped back down into the mid-70s again, so things are back to normal, but it was nice while it lasted.

I don’t think DoorDash is dumb. My thinking is they route further restaurants to the customer because either there’s no one available close by, rejected or they want to make you switch zones.

I simplify my bottom line by just calculating the average pay per delivery (weekly payout ÷ total orders), only taking orders that make sense. That tells me all i need to know. $10/delivery is considered the best i can do in my area. $8/delivery is the usual norm.

As far as the tire repair goes, if you happen to have a Discount Tire chain store in your area, they will often repair your tire for free if it's able to be plugged. They also air up your tires for free. All you have to do is pull up, you don't even have to get out of your car. Just a tip to share with other dashers!

Geez…I delivered on a dirt road leading up to a house few months ago and got a flat tire within an hour. Got a nail in it. It cost me $25 next day to get plugged.

I posted somewhere before that there should be no base pay, just based on miles. Say $1 a mile up to 5 miles with minimum $3. $1.5 up to 10 miles, $2 over 10 miles or something along those lines. Also a mandatory $5 tip or 15 %, whichever is higher with the option to tip more. Now you probably would reduce the amount of customers but these would be the ones you’re losing money on anyway. If you can afford to pay the inflated prices and the ridiculous fees you should be able to afford the tip, if not get off your lazy butt and go get it yourself. Also might be able to somehow reduce the fly by dashers and reward the people that have done this for years helping make you what DD is. Nothing more deflating than doing everything right, pulling up to a nice house and getting 0 tip.

Surprisingly had been a good week though Thursday doing about $25 an hour and over a dollar a mile but AR down below 40. Other than scheduling it doesn’t change anything. Had a couple good ones today, KFC 9.6 miles for $2.75 WTF. And the last one I took heading home was $6.50 for 6 miles. Was all base pay. Pretty say something really needs to change.

The way it is in California, they'll do an adjustment if you don't make 120% of minimum wage in your area plus $0.35 per engaged mile. Net earnings exclude tips, but can include incentives/bonuses. I still try to get double the mileage and if it won't take me to a stupid area...but trying to work out if the potential adjustment/mileage makes being less choosy worth it.

I am in cali too. I was leaning on that law but the drive back is not Active pay. Plus, the potential fair order loss in the 30 minute drive back has me Declining way more than before. The real test, whats life going to be like when the declines take me out of platinum.
