In this video I take you with me on 2 different multi-app shifts that I did. Using Doordash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats I see how much money I can make in the 3 hours I work across Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. At the end I breakdown my income and finances for you so you can see exactly how much I made and also see exactly where I put my money after each shift.

The reason hot spots are 'ripped' on is exactly the reason you experienced. You chased one and had no luck. Avoid chasing real time hot spots based on an algorithm. Just know your restaurant power strips in multiple areas. Know your market well for the best times to go out and the most favorable days to do it. Know the roads and traffic patterns well. Get to know any short cuts to beat traffic and lights. Traffic patterns are largely predictable. I know I can't make time mid afternoon here Friday through Sunday so I bail out of delivery by 1pm. I can't get anywhere after that because of traffic. Weekdays I let the commuter traffic die down and start the dinner shift at 5:45 and I can actually make good time on the roads. I don't stess starting breakfast until 10am because I have tried earlier many times and my market just doesn't start popping before 10. But there's no real figuring what days you'll make the best or worst money. That's a crap shoot. Your typical worst days can surprise you with good money and vice versa. Things get more steady heading into the fall and winter. Good luck out there. Stay safe.

Hi. I'm a Uber Eats/Doordash driver in Christchurch, New Zealand. Love your videos and have subscribed. The one difference here in NZ is we don't have a tipping culture (although Uber encourages customers to tip and you get them rarely) so you rely on the base price plus Uber quests if available. Loved your "idiot" comment at10.40 because the same thing happened to me 2 nights ago. Kicking myself the rest of the shift. Keep up the good work.

I like how you figure out your numbers it's cool. There is also a number for all the parts and repairs that will inevitably happen and the extra insurance you need in order to be properly protected while doing deliveries. One accident without proper insurance will leave you with no coverage and open you to civil lawsuits. Low payouts do not justify the total cost of doing buisness and room for profit IE money to live on. Your videos are awesome and I appreciate all the hard work you do to teach us things about gig deliveries.

Finally was cleared to start Uber so I started multi apping with DD. Made $249 Friday and $275 Saturday…total of 20.75 hrs(about 10 a day). I have a question/recommendation for you, let me know what you think…you’re calling taxes an expense in your final calculations, but I really believe the expenses you can’t keep driving without are gas, maintenance, and possibly accounting for depreciation of your vehicle(especially a nice one). You can calculate by cents per mile driven. I do 5 cents per mile for the car maintenance, which means every 100 miles gets me $5 to fix my car. You can get a Groupon for an oil change for around $30.
@MadDogGIO
@MadDogGIO 3 жыл бұрын
About the taxes, I really think that it’s not an expense. People that have jobs, they don’t account for taxes being taken from them and for the commute(sometimes really far commute). But as an example, if someone gets offered $20 an hour for a job…they probably only get $17 on their paycheck. The point is we all get taxed and calculate everything at the end of the year…so to call it an expense is a little off, just my opinion. A lot of people criticize the gig life because of taxes…and I’m thinking dude, have you checked your pay stubs? You don’t get $15…you’re getting paid $13 or less in reality.

How do you feel about the Uber "chEATs" policy where customers can remove their tip after the food is delivered? Tips = faster delivery but the driver ends up getting robbed after hustling to the pickup and dropoff location.
@Moore.Driven

I think it’s fine they allow people to change the tip but I think it’s completely wrong that people abuse it

Bottom line taking away full tip amount after delivery is never right. Uber should implement a system where customers must pay minimum half of their initial tip and can remove up to half of the tip depending on driver service in my opinion.

I wish that I would have taken the night off last night because I got an order, had a terrible experience. I couldn't find the drop off then I couldn't find the apartment. I called the customer and they wouldn't answer. I fell in the process because it was dark and I missed a step. I entered up just leaving the order at a location outside the apartments and letting the customer know. Now I am hurting today and I am bruised up ugh! I went straight home after that

So you're using the IRS standard mileage deduction to calculate your tax burden but then you're only subtracting your actual fuel cost when calculating net profit (your "after expenses" figures). What about other operating costs like maintenance/repairs, insurance, depreciation and/or lease payments, etc.?

s0ldier898 well if ones going the opposite way you cant do both so you’ll have to decline the uber/grubhub order and just finish out the doordash order. That happens to me alot. If you drive fast enough you can make it work sometimes not often but thats up to you if its worth it.

I think the reason everyone hates hotspots is because every dasher has the same idea and they all congregate in one small area making the hotspot not so hot. I sat in one at a shopping center, during dinner, for an hour and only was given 2 garbage orders. Instacart is usually my bread and butter. Doordash usually just pays for my gas and MAYBE a few groceries lol.

how many phones do you use for multi apping? I'm wondering how i would do a Uber eats and a doordash at the same time, with 2 navigations running and talking at the same time on 1 phone. Turn left in 200 feet and turn right in a 1/4 mile,, at the same time, lol.

Lol. After doing my taxes on my 3rd year lf being an independent contractor even. Before gig apping. I would say... you are someone who will benefit from having a kid lol. I didnt pay quarterly last year and that was my first year of being fully self employed and i got a 4.8k return this year because of recording expenses and having a 5 year old son. Love the money, but i also realize it means i basically got another stimulus check from the govt because this is the first year of my life that I got a return bigger than the taxes I paid. So i actually got paid by the govt my first year fully self employed. Thats weird.

I’m not telling anyone else to drive a Mercedes, I’ve never given that advice, no need to get jealous… it’s a car that gets good gas mileage (31mpg) and I saved and worked my butt off from the time I was 16-20 years old so I could get a car I loved. It’s not a bad financial move if you understand how much you should spend on a car compared to your yearly income just saying🤷‍♂️
