This is genuinely a great and insightful, truthful video. I’ve seen it play it out in my life. I’ve had periods of waking up early, no phone for first 1-2 hours, just peaceful wake ups followed by exercise and work, no big meals or scrolling etc, and it was so much easier to get work done during those periods as opposed to some periods I’ve woken up later, went right on my phone, had an energy drink, had a big meal, had another coffee, etc. having these bad dopamines early in the day makes it so much more likely your whole day will be filled with bad dopamine and so much less likely you get quality, valuable work done. Great video and I hope it can help more people realize that may not be noticing this is them.

Hi Charlie. Thanks a lot for this video. I did not know I was living a routine where I have almost no time for dopamine-inducing activities (going out, socialising, watching movies, attending concerts, eating out, etc.) and I keep wondering why I hate myself so much and why I'm never happy. Its like I'm always burnt out. I'm trying to switch jobs so I try to study after work but I realise I'm giving myself an impossible deadline and that's why I never feel satisfied. I'll try to tone down my routine a bit and hope to include some social activities so that I feel better. I was running a race with no reward lol. Cheers!

This is something very new to me, although I've been trying to solve my ADHD issues for decades by buying courses and reading books about it and watching videos. This seems quite contrary to my experience, because if I don't activate dopamine every few hours with some stimuli, I am almost literally paralyzed and unable to work. But your video makes sense. Maybe I just need to avoid any stimuli for several weeks by taking a vacation (lower dopamine base a little bit) and then try your method.

I’m adhd too and I noticed that if my focus is interrupted it’s hard to get back into it without some stimulation. But some of my experience goes in hand to what he’s saying - I tend to avoid artificial dopamine for 2 hours after waking up, now just figure out how to make that into 8 hours lol
@BlunderB
@BlunderB 2 сағат бұрын
Pro tip for a fellow adhd bro. I have dealt with adhd since I was very young. 2 years ago I figured out how to channel it like a superpower. To start Adhd is not the inability to focus. It is the focus of wrong things. Most people have whats called hyper focus adhd where it's very challenging to focus on things not interesting. This is why most adhd people can go down deep rabbit holes on random subjects or pickup hobbies very quickly. The secret is to be able to channel hyperfocus. Hyperfocus is driven by dopamine. What the guy says in the video is mostly tru and will help adhd people but my life hack is slightly different. I work in an extremely high demanding software development job. This is a nightmare for most adhd people sitting and coding for hours. Here's a trick I use. Rewire your brains dopamine to enjoy work and labor and especially deep work. You want to trigger flow and then never leave it as long as possible. Step 1. Grab yourself some caffeine or nicotine. Adhd people's brains work differently on caffeine and nictoine than most people but importantly it triggers dopamine response. Do not take it yet 2. Step 2 lock away all distractions anything that can interrupt flow. 3. Step outside. Step outside in the sun for a moment and begin walking around. 4. Whilst walking begin drinking the caffeine you don't need much caffeine maybe only 50mg to make this work. 5. While you walk envision the steps and work you are aboit to do in as much detail as possible. "I am going to go open the door sit at my chair boot up my editor then I am going to pull up the docs for this then etc etc" envision and pretend you are doing the work. 6. Keep the walk short only 5ish min. 7. As you finish your walk use that momentum to carry yourself into your task an object in motion remains in motion. Channel this momentum do not let anything interrupt you from starting what you envisioned. 8. Once you sit down immediately start chewing nicotine gum or any form of long release nictoine make sure it is long release short release will just give you a crash. Make sure it is the smallest dosage you can get. A little goes a long way here. 9. Put on headphones and start listening to a adhd music Playlist there are great ones with animal faces on KZbin those are the only ones I use as they are specially for adhd and the beats are very uplifting but not distracting or draining. 10. Do not get up or stop for anything even using the bathroom having to pee helps channel focus actually. Do not stop until you have finished your task or have to quit because of exhaustion. I would go for a minimum of 3 hours like this. But I can go up to 9-12 if needed like this. Make sure to eat very light food like soups or salads. Or steaks like the guy mention. After you do this for a week or two in a row. You will have fully pavloved your brain into being addicted to deep work. Its very rewarding and I can accomplish in one flow session what other coworkers take weeks to do. Anyways hope helps! Nictoine gum is less addictive if you use it as intended. Caffeine is more addicting but use it in very low dosages. I also rotate off this so it keeps working on my Brain maybe use this 3 times a week or so. Your welcome.

Also make sure your motivation for self-improvement comes from love and not shame. Dont change because you think you aren't good enough as you are. Do it because you DESERVE a more balanced life. Any fear-based motivation will not stick and ultimately just teach you to be shameful of your nature. Love is the only way! Brother. People go to work. Managing people they hate. Waking up at 7:30, leaving the house at 8:15. Returning at 18:30. While at work, nothing you say here applies. This ,,formula" does not work for the people that work 9 to 5. I know your goal is to become so good that you quit 9 to 5 but at the end of the day someone has to do it. You want services and goods, right ? Me as a 25 years old, coming with no help from family, but burdened with their stuff even, trying this routine is pointless. Because I don't have the money to sustain myself for a year or two, during wich to apply your formula. It's important because you can operate from a place of chill and focused work but most people go to a place they hate because of circumstances. And it takes an enormous amount of will and energy to jump into a side project after 10 hours doing something that you don't like.

The video just provides you the theory of dopamine loading and chasing. How to implement them is up to you. Maybe dont scroll for meaningless tiktok videos when you are on the way to work. Dont let your brain get easy dopamine stimulation in the morning and early afternoon. So that you can work harder at your 9 to 5 work and potentially earn more money because you are capable to work harder than others

Im 24 started a business 2 years ago but pursued entrepreneurship since I was around 20. Stocks/Crypto and random ideas etc. There are many reasons I started this journey of waking up at 3-4 am to work on my business. But the funny thing is that a big part of why I do it is the same reason you can't/don't do it. I understand that we are all humans and want to hide from pain with instant gratification AKA Dopamine. I still have my 9-5 job and have a plan to get out of it. That is my dopamine! Who I can help inspire, friends, family, wife, kids and even you! Its very hard don't get me wrong but even as I say that I don't believe it. Not being able to live a life you want and to die with regret is hard. Its harder to spend your life at a place you hate for 5 days a week. If you start making it about the people and lives you can help change it gives clarity to the situation. You make it hard in your own head because that's easier and gives everyone an excuse to just watch TV all night and repeat what they hate the next day. Remember that discipline is actually freedom. Start small, make yourself work on a topic you enjoy for 1 hour a night. Overtime create a vision for what that means to you, being rich, helping people, whatever it is. Your mind is the weapon to free you not a perfect circumstance of liking your 9-5 job enough that you have energy to work after work. If your in such pain, ask yourself how far you would go to alleviate that pain. Take it a step forward and think about the fact that many people in your life suffer that same pain in silence. This world will force you to say "welp thats life". Last I checked there isn't a manual they hand you at 18 that tells you how you have to live YOUR LIFE. Were all struggling, I'm here because I lost some of the spark I used to have but I really think its linked to dopamine. I've been using too much artificial stimulant and it dulls the world around you. Stay strong brother and make sure you show up for yourself!

If you have ADHD and I mean the real deal, not the kind induced by endlessly scrolling on TikTok, then this graph he’s showing is the key to living a normal life. When you remove artificial stimuli (as they’re called here), your brain naturally finds other ways to release dopamine, reducing addictive behaviors. If your goal is to get rich, great, but more importantly, this system will help you lead a balanced, fulfilling life. Honestly, I’d recommend eliminating the use of artificial stimuli altogether. That way you won't get addicted to your after-work activities.

I dont have all the knowledge of life and business. I own a small marketing company that does only a little over $20k per month on average. But I do know this- you just need to do what you need to do on your work days. Things just have to get done, whatever that is to meet your goals. It doesn't matter what schedule you have, when you go to bed, when you wake up, how you prioritize things, what morning routine you're doing, none of that stuff. Just doing the work required is all that matters. How you do it is up to you and I suggest exploring different things that may work better FOR YOU. If you try following someone else to the T its like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. For years I thought I was a failure because I couldnt be like these online "gurus". As soon as I started doing my own thing in ways that worked well with how my mind worked, my income exploded and I was at peace with all of the things I was doing and progress I was making.

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure.. So I really don't blame people who panic.

I am going to apply this routine to my daily life. One question I have is that I am a software developer and sometimes I get stuck fixing bugs. At that point I get up and walk around the house or just lay on the floor. Is this considered procrastination?
@bloodorangemoon
@bloodorangemoon 3 күн бұрын
In my opinion, no. I'm a writer and one of the best ways I have found to deal with writers block is to walk away and do something "boring". Take a walk, stare out the window, a wall even, meditate. My husband is an engineer and he's used my tips when he gets stuck on a problem. Think of it as a reset for your mind. Sometimes he will go to sleep and dream up the answers. Sometimes stopping is the most productive thing you can do

The moral dilemma is contributing to the dumbing down of society/supporting a lifestyle that promotes not living in the moment. Counterpoints can be made for sure, but I have witnessed that many people choose to binge the endorphin heavy content, and I do think people need to seriously consider what they spend their time viewing.

I noticed that when I work I “like” to listen to music or just something in the background but the few days that I don’t do that and just work I feel less stressed and the day goes by faster. My struggle is sticking to this type of thing long term. One tiny slip can send me off track for weeks or months at a time. I know for absaloute certainty how much more productive, how much more energy, focus (all the good stuff, you name it) that I am when I stick to the type of routine your talking about. Except I pretty much need to stay away from everything all the time. "Managing" it or doing it from time to time simply doesn't work for me. I need to say away from it at all costs or I easily fall off. I had to do the same with drinking alcohol 'sometimes' or 'just 1' never worked for me. 2 years alcohol free now but there's plenty more shit to cut out. *coughs* KZbin is currently my biggest vice. For blocking apps like social media (including KZbin) etc freedom.to has been a massive help.
