“The paradox is that hedonism, the pursuit of pleasure for it's own sake, leads to anhedonia. Which is the inability to enjoy pleasure of any kind.” ― Anna Lembke

Yes. The ancient Epicureans realized the dangers of over partaking of pleasure. They identified that too much pleasure actually leads to less pleasure. The classic example would be over indulging in alcohol leads to hangover, overall less pleasure than if you had been able to moderate or abstain or pursue natural pleasures like doing yoga to keep your dopamine levels on track.

God is offering you the free gift of grace (Romans 3:24) TODAY, that you can receive through faith in Jesus Christ .... (Repent) go to God and admit that your a sinner in need of a savior, if you (Confess) with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans10:9) and (Believe) in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, call upon the name of the lord and you will be saved (Romans 10:13)...Yahshua hamashiach/Jesus Christ is returning soon! It's mind blowing when you realize how many addictive substances surround us every day. Coffee, sugar, wheat, meat, diary, tobacco, weed, alcohol. Add to that the never ending flow of entertainment from the internet and you're busted. What a challenge!

I've always said the Internet is the greatest invention ever for me but that means it could be the worst. I lived well before the video age and so had to be home whenever a favorite program was on or miss it. I couldn't wait to be able to stop a film and watch the same clip again and when I finally got the video recorder the feeling was unreal at first but like everything else never lived up to what I thought or I just overused it. Now at age 60 I can see now that everything I got excited about never really lasted. So now I would just rather have the feeling of excitement but not have everything right away. If I want this book I could probably have it delivered tomorrow instead of looking forward to it being delivered in the next couple of weeks. I sometime want to turn my bedroom into a prison cell and give myself solitary confinement.

This is all in Islam, Fasting for the month Ramdhan, from food, and from all pleasurable activities. It’s a month to reboot ourselves inside and out, to reflect and make changes. In Islam Alcohol and drugs are forbidden. So is porn, excess joy, partying. Praying 5 times a days to stay disciplined and be grateful and thankful for our creator and everything has given us. Islam has been labeled as a radical religion, but it’s all about giving us the right guidance for a better, healthier lifestyle. Now the nobel prices and the the best researches in the world are proving that it’s guidance is the truth. ❤️🙏
