I'm originally from Georgia but moved to south Florida when I was very young so I grew up around a melting pot of amazing ethnic foods. Haitian dishes are one of my favorites. After moving back to GA, Haitian restaurants are non-existent so when I crave Griot, Legume, and rice & beans I search to learn. This recipe came out soooo good! I'm getting better each time I make it. Reminds me of my 2nd home!

@@Fabulousaddy Yes, I'm aware of the Haitian restaurants in the Atlanta area bcuz I lived there for 10 years. I've since moved to another part of GA that do not have them. The only time I have access to these restaurants is when I visit Atlanta which is not too often. 😔

@@dorannette26 😁hi Annette-do you add the green pepper finely minced, scallions and shallots? You could let the cloves boil in the water they will surface on top of the rice. Uncle bean rice, jasmine rice and basmati rice, niki rice are just great for this dish. Don’t forget to drop a fresh habanera pepper and a little bush of fresh thyme when the water boils just don’t let the pepper burst. You only want the flavor. Do you know how to cook cashew nuts with rice and cream of coconut. For this one it is a palatable dish with shrimp, lobster and crabmeat cooked with white wine vinegar and fresh tomatoes 🍅 on the vine with a side dish of fried green and sweet plantains garnished with a few slices lettuce and tomatoes and avocado 🥑. And for a drink a choice of coconut water with a little bit of white rum and lime. God bless!
