Loved the bit about the rubber seal on the receiver box..I've struggled with it in the past on my 4s Kraton..this is one of many reasons why i absolutely love your channel 🤘🏻

Those proline shocks are truly SAF. They get a lot of hate, but even after 20+ years no one has really replicated these. I have beat the heck out of my HR Servo Saver on my Kraton 4s and it has held up great, no complaints here. Another amazing video Professor Do!

Your lucky to have your hands on those Proline shocks.. The rears have been on backorder forever and i think i saw on fastserve which is the distribution side of horizon that the fronts are now on BO as well with no known date of next distribution. I really hope they are not discontinuing these shocks...they are killer and as you said EXPENSIVE.

Can’t you just wet sand the center differential Down a .5 mill? I had to sand the 6S Kagama center diff down a bit because the paint was uneven causing it to always leak. Excellent upgrades, esp the shocks.
@DoRCКүн бұрын
Yes you can definitely fix the problem
@magnusstoneКүн бұрын
I think the M2c motor plate has a tighter tolerance since my stock center diff actually bound in it. I had to buy a new plastic housing which ended up having just that little bit extra room I needed
@DoRCКүн бұрын
Yeah that wouldn't be surprising. The tolerance seems pretty tight to begin with so a little bit of extra material could cause problems

How would you confidently seal the servo box altogether? i.e., would you use a gasket maker? Or, would you 3d print an adapter that can be "sandwiched" between the top and bottom of the box? (something that could glue on to each half of the servo box which has a channel for a gasket on the side that's not being glued?)
@DoRC5 сағат бұрын
Yeah you would need to seal it up basically like a differential is. It would need to have a seal or a gasket anyplace there's an opening or an interface

Would you agree th big rock version is more like the Omni terminator style? Which one more of a safe bet in not breaking these new trucks or the new typhon 1/10 blx?
@DoRCКүн бұрын
The big rock is the same platform as the granite just a little bit bigger in every dimension. It'll be a little bit heavier which means you're actually slightly more likely to break something though it'll be more stable so maybe not. The buggy version will always be the least likely to break because it's the smallest lightest and has the smallest tires.
@bodom3212 сағат бұрын
Awesome upgrade, I just recently found your channel and already love it! Super informative! BTW I heard comments about very bad battery time on new Vorteks, what was your experience with it and how it compares to new granite?
@DoRC2 сағат бұрын
I haven't really had any issues with either one. That being said I usually don't run my batteries down to the LVC and tend to quit once I start feeling like it's making less power so it's possible I'm not noticing. The stock previous version ESCs let the batteries run down pretty low and given the voltages people are seeing after LVC with the new ones I suspect the new ones are actually closer to what they should be but I'm not sure.

Great video I’m thinking of upgrading my big rock I’m running the hot racing slipper which is great. Maybe I’ll just get one of the new 223s models. This really helps.

K Nipex? Isn't it pronounced Nipex as in the K is silent lol
@DoRCКүн бұрын
Nope. It's a German company and it's pronounced with the K. They actually have a page on their site dedicated to it :-)

@TylorSwain12 oh I agree. It's hard to pronounce with the K but ever since I found out that's how it's supposed to be pronounced I can't do it any other way :-)

I agree that 530 bucks is kinda high for a jato 4s but I would much rather pay more than buy an arrma and have to spend 3 hundred more on upgrades before you can even take it out one time because everything on the thing breaks

To be fair this video was more about what can be done rather than what needs to be done. This truck is pretty good out of the box and is already reasonably durable.
