I Love their friendship, and how impromptu they were.... "Why don't you just come over," and then they sit down and chat with one another... This is so beautiful, so simple,.... What people used to do all the time in the old days.... Just come on over for a coffee and a sweet. At least that's what people used to do in that, there, 😆 Scandinavian, northern Minnesota..🤭

From the look of it, Joan isn't wearing make-up. She looked totally different when she wore make-up, but her skin looked perfectly unblemished even when she was in her nineties.

While it's doubtful she'll be in another movie at this point, don't count her out yet. Doris Day is 95 years old now, but so is Betty White. And Betty doesn't seem to be stopping.

She WAS British; born to Lilian Rusé and Walter de Havilland, both Brits, who were living in Tokyo at the time. I had the pleasure of knowing Miss Fontaine in the early 70s, and though she naturally regarded herself as American, she was very proud of her English background.

Joan Fontaine WAS British, born to British parents in 1917 in Japan, William Augustus de Havilland and Lillian Fontaine, subjects of the Crown. She received her British citizenship upon notification of her birth to the British Embassy in Tokyo 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧. She grew up American by accident when her mother brought her to California to recuperate from pneumonia and they decided to stay in the United States
