The new way of opening orbs is diabolical, I used to spend maybe $100 a month, but I refuse to spend money and get nothing in return. I don't get excited about opening orbs as I used to! Game has gone downhill

This is where I think they fall short, in kyln tower, there’s theory crafting that goes on where you can have a sub-optimal lineup and have to try/reset things. Even these events don’t have the auto-sim button available so it’s repeating the same difficulty 3 times on manual. Overall, this really killed the hype for something everyone thought was going to be a fun game mode.

You're absolutely right, whats the point of these holiday themed events if 90% of the players can't play them because they don't have the required characters? They seem incapable of doing anything good for the community (unless its a mistake or glitch) Even that Captain brexit in the store is trash. He has appeared once for me since he went in there. I have wasted a 1000 cores over the week refreshing. It makes me so angry because I would rather them take their stupid 10 shards back and give me back my cores. They do nothing but make players feel bad in every aspect of the game.

It is really shitty how low his appearance rate is, but in their defense this is intended to be a "bonus" to his actual release. They said that he'll have a BP next month, they're rerunning his event and I think there was one more way they mentioned getting shards. So it *shouldn't* matter that much in the long run.

Alright, I can’t sleep and dorky has asked us to be brutally honest in the comments so he can send it over.. here I go, apologies in advance for typos or grammar issues, like I said I can’t sleep so I’m tired… As someone who’s played since launch, I’ve always prided myself on being F2P but still able to beat nodes/challenges/scourges/whatever else… with time, repetition, RNG, and strategy. I often play ONLY for PvE. Because at the end of the day, if you want to be competitive PvP it’s a wallet battle. So I very quickly realized I’m not meant for that and to focus on PvE darn near entirely. when dorky first started becoming a creator, he would often ask me if it was F2P possible. I’d always be brutally honest and say “yes with 15 hours of RNG until getting it right” or “yes but only with this character unlocked” or just flat “haven’t done it yet” obviously now he has a baby account so can test things on his own, and at the same time I’ve grown enough where people don’t consider me F2P friendly anymore just based on time put into the game. HOWEVER.. Lately, I don’t even know if I consider myself endgame anymore. It took me roughly 4 years to feel like an endgame player and now I feel like I’ve been pushed away. Just slipping through the cracks, I haven’t changed anything. I still play daily and WAY too much for someone with multiple jobs. I’m not sure what’s been going on but as I’ve said multiple times in discord and I’ll say it now in this long rant, I’ve never felt like quitting for good more than the past couple of months. I’ve taken short breaks but never once considered quitting for good until recently. 6 years later and I don’t know what else they could do wrong because what haven’t they done wrong? The one thing everyone typically loved was the art and even that recently has a screw up with the shaders and causing performance issues..

We need roughly 350,000 purple ions for a single character and they give us 900 per day. Might as well not give us any at all if it would take a full year this way to even get a single character up to the required level.

I felt exactly the same. I was excited about these events. In terms of mechanics, I thought the zombie one was neat, though I have the 3 Undying (not at high level). Many in my cluster don't, and it's frustrating for them. It's how I felt doing the vampire event. Only going in with Agatha and MK just felt crummy - and I'm not even close to unlocking any of the others. A real bummer.

The game is designed for all, but to be competitive, like truly competitive (a chance to win Vs all) $500 per month minimum is required. This was not always the case. The game has always had p2w mechanics (as a gotcha mobile should) but has now transitioned into p2p This has been done bc a % of krakens, either lack the time or skill to fend off those 60M TCP below, thus their spending and/or motivation has decreased, or was threatened to do so. They don't want to lose another Tadono Mac caliber kraken. I highly recommend to either find a better game to play, or accept that you will never be competitive

As a returning player, I am shocked how bad it has become. I hate pay to play games and this is going there fast. I may have to leave again. I did get lucky and pulled an 100 shard orb for Oath, but she is ineffective in the event because she isn't high stars.

It's a pay to play event that is disguised as a holiday event. It's awful. Watcher of Realms is doing their Halloween event right now, and it's 0 pay to play. Everyone of every stage of the game can do all of the events for free. Of course, the more powerful accounts will score more points, but everyone is doing the exact same levels. I expect the Christmas event, we have to pay them $300 just to play whatever half-assed event they put together at the last moment.

So im glad your showing concern for ftp/low spenders. I just don't see how it will do any good to show them messages here. If they paid attention to Any socially connected forum they would know the playerbase isn't happy and hasn't been for months. As far as this event goes I don't understand why it was released before zombie Scarlett witch was dropped as she looks to be usable on one of the teams. It's been very apparent since orchis dropped that ftp is going to have to pick and choose at this point which characters to unlock via core hoarding. Because the slow drip release orbs are absolute garbage. People have been complaining since May when it started with Illuminati and they just continue to ignore the backlash. I just hope it gets to a point when you and other ccs. Envoy or not, and I know you don't want to bite the hand that feeds you. Get angry enough to stand up and take action. Idc if people say we can't do anything we can. If the ccs got together and collectively asked their followers to leave bad reviews, stop spending, set a date for people to stop logging in until they agree to listen. Do the things the now defunct pvm that you helped start said it would do. So yes we as players do have something. We don't have to spend, and we don't have to play. We just need someone to step up and lead.

I guess people that would have left the game or would have stopped spending in the game after many disappointments with the company would have already done so. Scopely tested our limits, and we stuck around, so I guess they know we will stick around regardless of future disappointment? so for the bugged event, they might have realized that, even if no compensation was provided for their yet another disappointment, and pay to play nature, we would still stick around.

Anyone else notice the hunger stacks never depleted? I read the game-play as characters lose hunger as they kill enemies based on "nutirional" value. Mine never dropped below the starting 10 stacks

The "8 days" idea is not working here as they specifically mentioned it in the blog - some users will get the reward in daily quests a day later and for some it will be removed from daily quest a day earlier so everyone would have the same number of days

I am playing semi-casually so I don't care about any new characters, I just try to built the characters I have. Maybe my prespective is different since I am not in the endgame yet. But yeah reason for me not caring is because of these shitty practices by them. I was in the max endgame player category when I had my first account from 2018 to 2020 but since 2020 I felt demotivated and stop playing. Now I come back this month with new account because the game is really good and I don't have anything else to play on mobile on my free time, so I play semi-casually now.

As a f2p player, im actually in a situation where i have blade because i cored him, the only character I've ever cored, but i haven't upgraded moonknight and agatha because theres just so much to do. I dont see a reason for me to back pedal and upgrade undying either, im not going to get much value out of them. By the time their at good levels, they'll be a B+ team in crucible.

I’m on Frenzy difficulty in “The Thirst” due to them messing up the first time they released it. I can say it will be impossible to beat. Maybe if you have 3 diamonds on everyone, but my GT19 Purple ISO, 3diamond old and 5red Star new Nightstalkers couldn’t get past the first wave.

Worst thing is you aren't excited even if you have characters. Because you see ppl that exploited like MG starting on node 5 and getting to skip 1 whole day of prep giving them advatage in leaderboard and on top of that having 30 sims worth of stuff that they got that you wont see (they will get any comp too as always). And then 2nd zombies thing is also absolutely stupid too, it doesn't work and if you don't have Zuggs it just wont be doable at higher diff anyway. Game is broken and bugged for a week since they introduced this dumb event. I don't want to be negative all the time, but its not worth to get broken event if it means its gonna bug the game for a month until these incompetent bozos realize how to patch it back.

Scopely have definitively decided to focus entirely on a whale-only strategy. If you're not going to spend at least $300 a month, every month, you can leave - they don't want you. Right now some of the long-term players can struggle their way through, but by the end of next year the game is going to be two offerings: one, an on-ramp (free) to give people a taste and two, a high-rollers game where it costs $300+/mo to play. There will be no middle ground.

Used to be a battle pass spender (and was going to try and buy unlocks) and went full f2p because of scopely's new way of releasing toons, their inability to put out fun events and the buggy mess that this game is....I simply gave up on this company and i do not care about what they do with their game because they are stuck in their spiral of toxic positivity and refuse to take criticism as a sort of improvement Instead of coming up with hundreds of offers every day they should instead focus on fixing their game....there's absolutely no fun aspect in msf at the moment I watched their last battleworld stream and was shocked how uninspired undercooked and boring it was...gave me 0 energy and no hype for the upcoming new game mode This company is just operating on catastrophe mode....there's no event that went live with no major problem, they are unable to give us a plan ahead and want to keep playing deaf to all the player base's anger that is thrown at them If it wasn't for the other 23 people on my alliance i would have quit the game long time ago...but I know how hard it is to recruit and even harder to replace a high end roster I simply log in SIM nodes in raids....play my 6 CC battles or do my 10 war attacks

This isn't a game, not sure why you're deluding yourself. It's impossible for them to create an engaging event using your roster when there's so many pay to play aspects to the game. Either you're gated by a wallet or you auto because you walleted. There's no in between. Even the pvp content is just matching wallets to similar wallets.

@@DorkyDadMSF I do concur that it’s challenge to balance a node to be possible FTP and still difficult for people who have the toons unlocked. The difficulty system is a step in the right direction, but it’s so boring that all the battles are exactly the same for each difficulty. I’m fighting the same characters each time just sometimes they’re stronger.

the thirst event is absolutely terrible. they should just fking let us use any nightstalker, and then any other characters we want. the zombie event is so stupidly easy in comparison, and isnt pay2win either. Like this is just bullshit. These vampire minions are unironically BETTER than 80% of the teams in the game. HUH??? they get safeguard, allll the buffs, tonnns of bleeds and even ability blocks. these are minions??? i just dont get it. Like, i feel like the zombie event could have the vampire minions and it would be fine. But not only can we not possibly have nightstalkers unlocked yet, but the like "event" modifier with the civilians does... nothing??? They just sit there and do nothing until they die? And its not like you need to keep them alive even, so idk why they exist. The zombie modifier is super duper fun and could make an interesting event, except that one has shield minions... the worst characters in the game. Like, what??? why are the two different events sooo fucking stupidly different in terms of difficulty.
