Alignment and drill/drive method for me. Clamp it together with a spacer made of scraps stacked together to get the size. Mark the holes by referencing the other side and transferring the target. Drill and drive it it at the same time while it's still clamped. Just clamping it with spacer and drilling and driving in one go really helps me feel like I'm making it fool-proof and accurate. I tend to be very neurotic in the workshop about those things. Enjoyed the video!

Great idea. I really appreciate the feedback. I find it really easy to overthink projects like this. There’s probably a bunch of ways that would work depending on what you were connecting it to.

Ah! Wish I had these when I was in college. Great video, by the way - definitely subscribing to follow along with your projects! We found you on Instructables, as we're both finalists in the Shelving challenge. Best of luck to you! :)

Cool project! Do you have a parts list for the clamping mechanism? Amazon or Home Depot links maybe? The instructable was a little vague on those parts.

Gerry Giese - no problem. I’ll add that information to the Instructable tonight in the comments and then to the main Instructable after the contest it is in has finished. Thanks.

The parts list has been updated in the Instructable write up.
