seen Dorothy a bunch of times and met her 4 times so far, she had a really bad break up with the guitarist boyfriend from the "Rock is Dead" album, since then she's been writing songs about it, she is a genuinely talented musician and kicks ass live, going to see her again in Elko Nevada in early July, if she plays Northern Nevada/California we're there, and my wife when we did the meet and greet at Crystal Bay Casino in Tahoe back in 2017 told her while I was stood there "my husband has the biggest crush ever on you" thanks bebe !

Agree, Dorothy has a very strong vocals. First album is more hard rock with a country/blues touch, second is much more toned down, the third seams like it's much more like the first from the three songs released so far. While it could be a savage response to a abusive relationship, this feels more like a metaphor for either overcoming addiction or perhaps even more so surviving and fighting mental health issues. "Taking it back the life you stole. Every little piece you took of my soul" could be a relationship, sure many songs are like that, but can just as well be about getting sober from substance abuse or fighting back agains her inner demons. "You can't hang your chains on me When your six feet deep This heart ain't yours to bleed Now that yours no longer beats. Hallelujah, I'm over you yeah I buried you, oh Lord, you're dead to me" both addiction and mental health struggles could definitly be the chains she's singing about, and shes "burying" them by moving forward. "Long is the road out of hell and the misery", her struggle has just begun, but now she's fighting back. Might be overthinking it, and still like the song no matter what, but it does hit differently when you think of it as not about an actual person.

Dorothy herself said on Twitter that this song was about getting over alcoholism. Although it the lyrics make it sound like a badass breakup song where she escaped an abusive partner that died XD
