@@ttp436 Sure you can blame them. You have a choice if you will INTENTIONALLY hurt someone. Harold pursued her like the latest pair of shoes and when the newness wore off, it was on to the next. After they were married he could have been honest with her but that ego wouldn't allow it. I only give him credit for admitting he was horrible to her but it doesn't absolve him of his deeds.

Man i would love the chance to marry a loyal , beautiful and genuine woman. I would stay true through and through til the end for a chance with a woman like that. But goodness those men had it all at their feet.

So Dorothy and Harold’s daughter had severe brain damage because Dorothy delayed her baby’s delivery because she was trying to wait for Harold to get to the hospital. I have learned something new. I did not know that a woman could delay delivery of a baby. I always thought if it was time, the baby was coming.......ready or not. That is really sad........and if it is true, Dorothy probably carried a lot of guilt about it. So the doctors and nurses simply allowed her to delay it even though they knew what the consequences could be???

She abandoned the daughter, she couldn't take care of her because she felt unloved and the man did not care... She chose her career over the sadness, clearly she carried that trauma with her till the end

@JazzysClassicJazz I have a disabled brother btw, my mom became a broke single mother of 6 kids never remarried... At the end we all had pitch in even today, my sis are very involved with my brother! At the beginning she couldn't afford it maybe so but she became comfortable especially with the type of men she dated... Was it a priority ? The lil girl couldn't communicate but she could walk, she could eat and so on... She chose her career because she had that sex symbol type roles, a child would have slowed her down plus the ex husband she didn't want 2 be tied 2 that man anymore...

+Ladiosa Amor i beg to differ. things were different then for in dorothy's time. you dont have to be a harsh critic, you dont know what she did for that child. Besides with nobody family to support, how was she gonna take care of the child? she had to work to earn a living.

@@LaaDiosaa I too wondered this about Dottie, did she leave Haroldlynn to pursue her career but I have to agree with the other commenters. She had to work to pay for shelter and expenses. Also, it was best for Dorothy's mental state as well as for the little girl. I don't think Dottie staying home to care for Lynn would've been best for either one of them. Dorothy was too fragile to care for her and struggling financially.

Dorothy was even playing in enough movies so she can care for her daughter with the money and she ended up going bankrupt and there was nothing she could have do for her child so the state took her daughter yeah she did died at least she lived a long life even out living her mother's age so she was being taken care of up until her death.

Her daughter passed away in 2003 at least at 59 to 60 years old. I think she might've died from a fire that went down in the Institution camp.

How do you hold back given birth? I don't think so. When you're ready to push, you're ready to push! I think that's the rationale Dorothy used due to guilt.
