That salad makes me inutterably sad. "It's only 316 calories, you see..." bitter tears have none. Edit: Nice of the TV station to buy the bridal bouquet

That Excel diet was bloody awful - everything had to be prepped in advance (often bizarrely using gelatine as an ingredient, so you had to wait for it to set before you could eat it), and so much dry, high fibre stuff. YUK! The 'eighties were a terrible decade for slimmers - the common wisdom of the time that fat was the enemy, was later proved to be wrong! However Diana lost weight, it wasn't on that diet - she was clearly totally clueless about the recipes, and often appeared out of her depth when explaining them to dozy autocue-reader Prick Owen! The irony is she had terminal cancer at the time but didn't know it. That no doubt curbed her appetite and played a major role in her weight loss. How I wish she had been fat, healthy and alive for at least another 20 years. Losing Britain's national treasure, the great Diana Dors aged just 52, was a cruel and bitter blow. She warmth and heart were as captivating as her beauty and glamour. She was all woman, and a joy at any size. We shall not see her like again, she was a wonderful one-off, and is very much missed.= from public life. 40 years on we're surrounded by 'celebrities' wherever you look - but stars with Diana Dors' magic are as rare as hen's teeth.

Way back when women kissed each other on the mouth without causing raised eyebrows.

Kissed by a Hollywood star! Celebrities these days wouldn't even step out of their personal insta 'safe spaces' , they're far too important in their own heads to mix with joe public. Diana was a legend!

@@Skaterbun Yes Diana Dors was something very special - she had powerful star quality, glamour and charisma., but it was matched by real warmth, humility and kindness. What a very special lady and star she was - gorgeous and all woman, whatever the scales said. How I wish she had lived, fat, healthy and captivating, rather than slimming down and tragically dying of cancer at just 52. Her premature death really puts 'slimness' into perspective.
