Hey there, thx for this nice tour 😊 1. you missed some signs, so you left the roundpath next to the lion house 😅 2. This rebuild of my homezoo is my wish roadmap to the year 2035. Hope there will be tiger soon again... 3. Yes, the most empty cages are for birds...😢 hope some day... ❤thanks

I visited in 2019, some of this reminds me of going there, especially clouded leopards and tamandua house. Brilliant design and video. Thanks

I've visited the Dortmund Zoo several times this past year so this is super interesting to see! It's definitely not 100% accurate, but certain areas are absolutely close enough that I would have recognized them immediately. The clouded leopard area looks super close to the real thing! A lot of these 'typical' cage looking habitats are for birds, that's why they're probably left empty. Dortmund definitely still has a lot of old fashioned and a little sad looking enclosures, but also a lot of construction sites. The seals are getting a brand new area, so their current pool is unfortunately horribly sad. I'm a little confused about the tigers in the video, I'm very sure there are none in Dortmund. There is a horribly tiny old cage somewhere hidden at the edge of the zoo that I believe said that it used to house a tiger 'in the olden times' that they keep there to show how cruel conditions used to be, maybe the creator was inspired by that to come up with a new one? And my kid also absolutely loves the playground in the center of the zoo! (And mom also loves it for the coffee break ;)

There are no Tigers in Dortmund. The old area was given the new lions.

Wow, when you're watching a zoo tour, and you see one of your own blueprints! Pretty sure the climbing tree the orangs were using is one of mine 😊! Nice! The zoo looks great, pleased to have contributed to it. 12:07

I live right near the zoo. There is also a botanical garden next to it, where I sometimes go for a walk. As a child in the 90s, I always went to this zoo. This Zoo in Planet Zoo is very well done and feels like home!

Heyho, the Zoo Dortmund is my local zoo! I was there just a few weeks ago so I think i can give a good review of this great recreation. So yeah, our zoo is old and dated, but a good portion is being renovated/rebuild. Like the sealion habitat, which is still a constuction site. But its nice to see the "final product" so early. The tropical house is closed for a few years, mainly because its around 40 years old. But it will be rebuilt - whenever they got the money for it. The only "wrong" thing is to the left of the camels at the beginning. There are the habitats of predatory birds. I guess Planet Zoo doesnt have those? Its a bit weird seeing a lynx, cause the enclosure is empty. The open habitat with the "Rettet die Tiger" is actually the very old tiger habitat. Hard to belive they had to luíve in this.Tamaduas is not the german word for anteaters, which is Ameisenbär, but a type of anteaters. And yeah, the round course. It always feels like there are two in this zoo. One for the left side, one for the right side. I think they call that the savannah path or something. The habitats are as detailed as they can be. Theres not much in them, but whats in them is actually there. The pile of logs at the capybaras. The trees in the clouded leopard enclosure. The "nothingness" for the zebras. I really liked the video/recreation of my local zoo. And if anyones in the area, it doesnt even cost 10€ to visit, a nice price-performance ratio. Have fun!

Its not an accurate representation because f.e. Dortmund has no tiger, just lions ... .
