I didn’t know all this so I repotted my new plants immediately, thinking I was doing the right thing 😭..

Yes! I love Lowe's for their variety of plants BUT most of the ones I have gotten from them have been soaking wet. I always have to give them almost a week to 10 days for them to dry out.

Ok it’s not just mine then 😅 I haven’t had any major issues with it, but I’m also super careful and repot them when they’re that sopping wet.

Our big box store plants are always soaking wet. I’ve poured standing water off the top before. If I buy one, I just lift it out of the pot and plop it into a terra cotta pot. That seems to dry out the soil pretty fast for me.

Great tips and the only thing I would add is that sometimes when ordering a plant online the soil is completely wrong for it. I have had plants that within one week of getting them I have to go into emergency mode to save it. I have one this especially with Hoya.

Ooo yeah! That’s a good point! 👏👏

Amanda: Great info as always. "Full Sun" (as is stated on the care tags) is very subjective. With season changes, I am moving several plants into my eventual growing room. Aloha! 🪴

That’s great! And I agree. Full sun isn’t always full sun, but they can eventually adapt to it. I love how attentive you are to your plants 😊🌿

I bought a homalomena thinking it was an aglaonema too 😅 I found out the hard way lol. If you can figure out how to grow them they are just so beautiful, mine hated dry soil and def no direct sun. Good luck with yours 😊

Haha I’m finding they NEED LOTS OF WATER. So dramatic when it dries out slightly 😂 thank you for those tips 👏🌿

I’m going to try that pest combo because I have been using systemics but I like to try rotating treatments , I use that same systemic but not as much so I can add more tfs ❤

Hello from Puerto Rico!! First timer on your channel and just subscribed. My channel is in spanish but can be captioned. Good advice!!! 🪴🙋🏼♀️🐩💚🌿 I use diluted Neem oil with Castile soap…so far, so good.

Aw welcome! 👏 so happy for those captions! That’s a great mix. I’ve never actually used Castile soap, but I will at some point. Always gets recommended 😊🌿

I purchased this plant twice and both times I went running back to the store with them because my suspicion of pests were accurate. Please check for thrips.

Oh no! Well, TBH I found a thrip on it after filming. So…she’s treated and quarantined. Going to treat it every week until nothing shows 🙈😅

You're beautiful sister. Git my 1st houseplant. Starting ro panic bc i think i sun-burned it. i dont have AC so low airflow. Only had 2 weeks😢
@BotanicalBrunette Жыл бұрын
Hey! Don’t panic - sunburned plants will be ok, just move it to a spot that’s not getting direct Sun rays. You can just simply snip off the burned leaves

should i use super thrive on my air plants?
@BotanicalBrunette Жыл бұрын
I’m actually not sure about that. I’ve never tried. I usually only use superthrive on plants that are either propagating or that I’ve repotted to avoid transplant shock. Are you wanting to use it for like a nutrient?
