I have no secrets. that guitar sounded pretty thin with the band so I used a Tone Concepts Distillery pedal to fatten it up with awesome results. google that shit, yo.

philx1111 Hey Phil, what's your view on harmony pedals, and have you ever used one when playing the Highway Star solo live? Much love to you man.

@philx111110 жыл бұрын
thx for the cool comments. the headphones? we are actually in a studio. the only thing you can hear in that room are drums so without headphones or my in-ears, we wouldn't hear the guitar or bass amps which are in other isolated rooms.

People don't know Rich recorded the whole Machine Head album on the VOX AC30 with a ES-335. The classis setup Marshall 500w + Strat was just his live rig until later...
@chrishorton61510 жыл бұрын
Wow! I never knew that. He got that sound out of an AC30?
@khurai11110 жыл бұрын
Chris Horton You can find his in the inner pics of the album cover. He also stated on an interview that he liked the AC30 best because it buzzes like hell. In these days he also used the little trick. Vox AC30's preamp to Marshall 500w's poweramp for volume.
@bearbrook910 жыл бұрын
hmmm maybe, but the guitar sounds more stratty than earlier DP and there are 2 shots of a strat in the jacket pix showing the sessions
@khurai11110 жыл бұрын
Mike Bearbrook Maybe a strat but the common knowledge is ES-335. I have no idea how to prove it so leave it. Though it's a Vox AC for sure. You can't get that fuzzy sound out of a Marshall ;)

It's mad how all guitars sound different,even the same guitars. They are like pets,some are better than others.I think they start life as pieces of wood with strings on,they have to be taught to sing and be musical instruments.More you make them sing,the better they sound! : }
