So Santa was played by Rickey Smiley (google him). He was casted for another part (I forgot who) they had him play Santa. Had him shoot all these scenes then sent him on his way. He didn’t think he’d even make the movie. He’s hometown in Birmingham, AL @ the movie theater on release day and finally see’s himself. By the end of the movie the audience realized it was him and it was pandemonium in that movie theater.

Justin Pierce (the actor who played Roach in Next Friday) died later in 2000. I think they would have had a hard time acknowledging Roach's death in the movie, due to his unfortunate death in real life; while at the same time keeping the movie entertaining. I'm guessing the writers initially were planning on having Roach be in Friday After Next (being that Chico the dog was back), but decided to just leave Roach's existence ambiguous and let the audiences imaginations fill in what happened to his character in the movie. There may have been some ideas of having Roach's absence explained with either prison or rehab, but then again, its not like they ever acknowledged Smoky after that short line about rehab in the second movie.

To my understanding early scripts for this film did have Roach involved (Smokey as well if I’m not mistaken) but when Justin committed suicide (and Chris Tucker declined) things had to be rewritten
