FUN FACT: Basically the whole movie was shot in the Czech Republic and you can find Czech actors throughout the whole movie including the France football fan, the hotel waiter and manager in Bratislava, three Wondersexxx girls and one of the male assistants there. Notes from 20 years ago. Hasselhoff wasn't actually too random. The Hoff was in Baywatch, which initially crashed and burned in the US. But it was a huge hit in other parts of the world and for some reason, the Germans loved Hoff. He was a huge star over there. He was also a running punchline on Weekend Update while Norm MacDonald was the anchor. This theory was that " Germans Love David Hasselhoff." It's funnier in context. Also, that was Lucy "Xena" Lawless as the Amsterdam club hostess.
@LancerX9168 ай бұрын
The first season of Baywatch failed, but it did well internationally that they decided to do a second season. It then became very popular in the US when it went to syndication. It did not crash and burn, it was just not a prime-time show. Worked better as a Saturday night show on local channels.

Road Trip is probably the best example of that kind of genre of movie. Personally I would say it's a technically better movie than American Pie easily, American Pie just had the bigger "meme" impact. Absinthe...the ingredient is Wormwood...it can be home brewed, or semi distilled using other alcohol and steeping the wormwood in it...but the end product in any case is a drink thats hard to palate...so the traditional approach is not a glass full...but to take cubes of sugar on a perforated spoon and pour the absinthe over it as it falls into a tumbler of ice, melting the sugar as it goes. Much more enjoyable after that. (To get the anise flavor, I recommend using ouzo as a starting point if you steep your own...or add anise to the mix.)

This movie was filmed in Prague during the SARS Pandemic, so they had a hard time getting any cameos and such because getting anyone to come to Europe during SARS was not happening, but when they found out Matt Damon was already in Prague doing Brothers Grimm, they asked him to do the cameo and so he hopped over to their set on on of his days off. :)

Scotty doesn’t know goes back to high school. We used to sing that song to my friend Scottie. So catchy lol

God I forgot how much I loved this movie in high school. It's crazy it's been 20 years.

Great reactions, and some notes: 1. Check out Undercover Brother 2. David Hasslehoff was a huge pop star in Germany in the late 80s. Taking German class in HS, I remember the German magazines had tons of articles about him 3. Mi Scuzi 4. Scotty really Doesn't Know

There are three things i remember most fondly about this movie, the song, the train tunnel scene and Vinnie Jones being the legend that he is.

That amp at 6:19 is actually pretty rare now. A JCM 800 series 4 hole plexi. Built sometime in the 80’s

So, I'm slightly older since I graduated in 2002 ... I saw this movie when I was in college. I actually played the Scotty Song when I was in a band a while back, and people lost their minds every time 😂

That part with the American nickle and when he slaps his boss and says he will open his own place was my favorite part of this movie. Hilarious.

When I was young did my mom have to print out a map from Mapquest? Nope When I was young we had something called road maps ... they gave them out for free at many gas stations, which at the time were ALL full service. At 8 years old while in mom's 1956 Buick Special I was the navigator, planning the route, reading the maps, saying what lane to be in to switch highways, saying what exits to take, where to go, etc.. That was fun.

One of the underrated comedies. I wish we still got movies like this these days.
