Keith, will you post what you mix together in your personal all in one formula? And possibly how you go about it more in depth. Thanks

I don't want to put that out here since I fear others may use those amounts on their systems. For each tank you need to do an ICP test and then input those results into the Captiv8 spreadsheet to determine the dosing amounts for that particular tank.

Mixing variety of traces can probably react with each other , rendering certain traces useless and few causing toxic byproducts. Thoughts?

That is not an issue with the Captiv8 traces.

I have my formula and sticking with it. Dosing lugols and iron weekly, SR and MG as needed and doing 30% waterchange every 3 months to balance out the others. Dont see much of a difference after doing waterchanges which is what i want

Hi Keith Do you have to worry about certain elements reacting with each other I.e. positive and negatives? Just mindful company's like TM split elements (A & K supplements) to stop any reaction.

How are you dosing and testing for fluoride? Reeflabs doesn’t test for Flouride on their ICP.
@ReefBum Жыл бұрын
I have also been using Fauna Marin for ICP testing....they measure Flouride.

That’s a really interesting video. I’ve just got my latest set of ICP analysis back from Triton. My corals seem super healthy and are growing fast, I do however seem to have come across a fundamental flaw with trace element’s supplementing from ICP tests. It’s a bit too much EO explain here, but basically comes down to salinity. I don’t think any Triton ICP results adjust for calculated salinity. Basically if my salinity is low, Triton will recommend that I add lots of trace elements, when infact all I need to do is increase my salinity. I’m definitely going to check out Reef Labs to see if they calibrate/overcome this issue. If they don’t I need to figure it out myself. It’s made me realise that if I get a recommendation to add trace elements it might just mean my salinity is low! I’m going to do more research but I have strong evidence that this is the case.

hmm. almost the same as reef moonshiners method. i may look into this one as well

I use reef moonshiners and is by far the best thing I have done for my sps. It is way easier than Chris Meckley's methods. It has allowed me to not have water changes.

Yes, I mentioned that in the video

So my channel is sponsored and I also have material connections with some other companies. My videos are about my reef keeping journey and what I use to successfully keep my tanks. If I cut those types of videos out then I would be leaving out huge chunks of info on how I run my tanks.....many people want to know that stuff. Sorry you feel like this video was a commercial but I only put out content that I think would benefit others. I don't base my decisions on what to use on my tanks because I am getting something for free. I farm and sell coral so that would not make any sense since I want the best colors and growth for my corals.
