Dot Mandala on Canvas | Step-by-Step Tutorial | Cherry Blossom

Let's create this design I call 'Cherry Blossom'. This tutorial is still fit for a beginner, but ever so slightly more advanced. A little less instruction, and lots and lots of swooshes. If you are looking for a fun piece to practice your swooshes, this is it. A little bit of freedom and some structure, too. I will take you step-by-step, at a slow beginner's pace suitable to walk through it with me, from start to finish.

First video I’ve seen of yours and I love the pinwheel effect you get by starting swooshes slightly off from each other. It gives such a dynamic depth to the piece!

Do you spray paper too before painting

Usually not, no. Now I only use paper for design practice before it goes on a permanent surface. However, you absolutely can and especially for things like greeting cards a really light mist of the same spay used here.
