Changes to HERO have been made since this video was released. This list will contain those changes (not including number changes, since they are very frequent) Aghanim's Scepter: Can now be purchased on the hero. When purchased it will transform Viscous Nasal Goo into a no target ability. When activated it will cover all nearby enemies in goo, instead of just a single target. this is a great Hero for newer players to DotA as he's very forgiving for noobs. his damage reduction means you'll get away with a lot more mistakes than if you picked a squishy carry. I just started DotA a couple weeks ago and you wouldn't believe how many times I'm running for my life and somehow make it back to base alive. bristleback can do it all! he can: -tank -initiate (run into the enemy team and turn your back to them) -he can chase down just about anyone -he can even carry

LoL does have counter picks but it is mostly limited to counterpick the enemy champs. Blitzcrank can counter aggressive champs during laning phase like Lulu and Sona so that it is easier to get last hits for blitz's ADC(Carry). While in Dota 2, heroes can counter pick team composition, goal, initiation, secure goals, and enemy heroes. Earthshaker is very effective in stopping push attempts, secure late game goals, and counter certain hero. This makes Dota 2 have more depth than LoL.

I think about 10 percent more damage due to how his backstab scales, but it is still a massive drop from what is a +125% agi damage buff. That and the fact it will trigger his quills, which will aid in killing riki.

his spikes on both his back and hands glow more. he becomes slightly bigger with each stack and a trail is left behind him as he runs. he is the size of tinys first form without the ult and the max ult stacks hes the size of tinys second form

Bristle is one of my favorite heroes and I can't wait for him to be ported, but he's really really far from OP. You have to alter your item build and positioning against him, but some armor and a magic stick early + good positioning is something you should be doing against all but a handful of heroes anyway. He's also got mana issues that are really easily exploitable with a solid counterpick. L2p, basically.

I think jungling with him would be interesting: 1) stack large camps. 2) smoke up 3) spam your quils till they all die. They will walk away from the source, but not that far, and they will return to the camp. So having him in lane while a support stacks the camp for you would be epic. When you go to take the camps, the support can then go to lane to get the creep XP.

I agree with what you said about Rigwarl and Nightstalker. Beastmaster and Centaur are not tank semi-carries. Beastmaster is used primarily for his scout hawk and ultimate. His attack speed bonus is an aura which is used for the carries on his team. Centaur...just no.

Indeed. Of course the fact that the 3 second cooldown on Quill Spray prevents it from reaching maximum damage without the separate trigger from Bristleback's passive. Tactically speaking, you need to THINK to use a tank like BB. Oh and his Viscuous Nasal Goo? Yeah that armor reduction and slow is good, but if you DO use that, you lose the protection afforded by his back. He's more advanced than you think.

You can pay real money to unlock characters in league, the most expensive (aka the most recent releases) usually run close to $9 or you can grind for IP which are the free currency you get from playing. But unless you spend money to get a boost to double your IP income you are gonna get them rather slowly. Around 100-200 depending on how long the match goes and if you win or not without anyboost. Now do the math where the most expensive cost 6300 IP or 7800 during a hero's first week of release.

that depends on the item build on riki. if he go many agi items ( like he should) he would still do a little more dmg in the back then from the front, however, that would probably get him killed because of the extra quill sprays...

well the crit will be reduced by 40% so he'll receive 600 dmg total without armor, so he'll release 2 at most, even just 1 if armor is taken into account, as the damamge can be as low as 300 even with a 1k crit

you need farm, purchase him at least a vitality booster to make him a real tank, or you will feed a lot. Dont forget to buy magic stick, it is an amazing mana source for him since his spell cost only a few mana

They kept the overall design, since the minotaur theme of the taurens isn't a Blizzard copyright. We only have concept arts, but it seems he's much bulkier and his head resembles a yak rather than a bull.

HoN's first hero pool (around 20 heroes) from the beta are all 1:1 Dota heroes. At this time it wasn't decided about Dota2 and S2 had the permission to copy the dota heroes. After Dota2 was in development, the permission to copy was gone and they started slowly to change the old Dota heroes except some of them. Google bristleback from the very old Dota 1 to prove

Yeah that was why they nerfed "void demon" in to what we call "night stalker" today. He was one of few heroes in dota history that that really changed because of the insane op-ness.

I use him a lot, and i can say this, he can be incredibly tanky, and his snot ability is a massive slow and damage buff. When left unkempt, bristleback can destroy everything

Because each new hero introduces new elements to Dota. Elements you haven't experienced yet. You'll figure out how to play with and against him in time. He may be subject to some changes, but his win rate wont be any more outstanding than the rest.

His Quills do more damage when enemy armor is less. Meaning Assault Cuirass, Medaillon of Courage and Desolator are good picks. (The later being better reserved for hardcarries but if no one gets it go for it)

desolator is the only one that you shodent pick up, medallion is good for early game, and as a side it gives mana regen, which combine with bristleback int gain, mens no mana problems. And AC is good on late because of the -/+ armor, but the fack that it gives attack speed. Pretty much the only thing bristleback dosent have

If you want to you have invest a extremely large amount of time to be able to play every champ in the game at anytime that you want to. Otherwise its back to grinding for IP until you can get the next 6300 guy on the shop if you really want to play him free and not have it locked again after the free week is over.

First move in Tic Tac Toe is actually imba, a strong player (which isn't saying much, since the game has nearly no depth) can guarantee a win or draw 100% of the time. DotA is objectively more balanced. Game design is surprisingly kind of boring, but DotA's method of balancing is REALLY interesting, unique, and effective.

This may just be speculation, but back in the days of Dota 1 did the heroes have randomly generated names? You know, like the heroes did in the regular multiplayer maps. If that's the case then it would make sense that they would be refereed to by their title instead of their given name because it would be the only consistent thing about them and, therefore, the best way to quickly identify them.

As for me (A LoL player) It's because we in the Lol community wants to know that Champion first. Before buying a new champion, it's because if we don't watch the Champion spotlight it's like playing bingo, you won't know what numbers are next or coming. Here DC is making a some kind of rework on the Heroes. If you're an old DotA player (like me) you'll know this Hero and you don't need to see the hero preview right? Others want to see the new skin of the hero and the animations etc.

(wich is more played then lol in china alone, more then 5 billion matches played in one year on one of the three dota clients, while lol has had 1bil in its whole 3 year life span)

it being in beta merely means that it is unfinished and in a state of testing. that does not affect the number of people playing the game or watching videos related to it. regardless of whether it is in beta or not, the viewership of a video should not be affected as one does not need the game to take interest in it and watch a video about it.

not really... I mean it negates his back stab... but Riki can still do ungodly damage. the little spike wave won't be enough to deter a decently fed Riki player. And even if he does take a lot of damage from it, Riki can still just bug out and go invis. It does mean however that he'll be a lower priority for Riki to jump on. And team mates of Riki could hate it if he back strikes him in the middle of a team fight a lot.
