Changes to Visage have been made since this video was released. This list will contain those changes (not including number changes, since they are very frequent) Grave Chill: Now also gives the bonuses to any familiars close to Visage. Gravekeeper's Cloak: No longer gives independent armor or magic resistance, but instead decreases all damage taken by 8/12/16/20%. Gravekeeper's Cloak also works on Visage's familiars if they are within a 900 radius of him. Summon Familiars: Magic resistance reduced greatly to 35%. The familiars also always deal the same amount of damage, rather than more damage when they have charges. Visage now also has a bonus ability which, when activated, uses stone form on the nearest familiar. Remember to like this comment if it helped you, and feel free to ask me any question.

set them up in groups and hide them in the forest, bring them out whenever you're about to initiate.

A little late reply but whatever: The trick is to *not* initiate with your familiars. They will be target no.1. Instead, do as JacobStar91041 said, & keep them in the forest until the actual fight begins, then, when the enemy is busy fighting for their lives, you sneak the familiars in, because the enemt will not focus on them.

Just randomed this hero in an AP game and it was my first time playing him. This hero seems to get better into mid and late game, which was a little confusing since I usually expect int heroes to be better early game. Regardless, he was tough to play, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend him unless you can micro the ult really well. The dudes takes a while to land in stone form so you really have to lead them ahead of the guy you're hoping to stun.

The only thing that makes him support-like is because he does not need many items or much gold to be good, he only needs xp. This however disproves him being a carry aswell, since he does not need said items to do his damage.

The Familiars gain bonus damage when Drow activates her Aura. This in combinations with an AC (a common Late game item on Visage) can melt Buildings in a matter of seconds, even with backdoor Protection.

I wouldn't say bad, I'd say different. I've played through all 4 Visages, being the second to last the one I most enjoy, however this new Visage have some new powerful tools that make it shine during team fights, such as a up to 6 second stun as well as a 380 damage skill that can be cast every 4 seconds. From what I gather the previous version's main flaw was how situational it was, but oh well, it's Visage, and I still love him.

Back then there was the only one person working on the game at a time, and it was still considered by all as a mod and a mod only, there was only starting to be some mobas coming out at that time and none of them were famous beyond its original playerbase, now its different. Icefrogs got a whole team with him so you can't complain now and Guinsoo has got a whole team with him as well and he has said he wants to release heroes constantly which is why it gets rushed

I agree 100%. Thank you for being an actually intelligent on the subject and well informed. Some of the dota fanboys are to ignorant to actually look at LoL as a game. LoL is more popular because it is a LOT more noob friendly, but can still be played competievely and is very fun because of the amount of champions(i think more than dota 2 at this time correct me if im wrong) while dota is a lot more in depth but a really large learning curve with weird stats that confuse me personally ;/

I would argue that he has a high learning curve but most of his difficulty is in microing his familiars while his other spells are straight forward in design. If you can get over that hurdle then he's a great hero.

Visage: 2 single target spells, both are easy to use + (familiar have 1 aoe ability that you don't have to aim)*3=5 abilities. Meepo: (1 aoe ability, that you have to aim + 1 single spell, which effectiveness depends on your skill)*4=8 abilites (10 with scepter) Also, if one of your familiars dies, it's only 100 gold to killer, and nothing more. But if one of your clones dies, it's death for all Meepos. And you can (and should) farm multiple spots/lanes while plying Meepo, in contrast of Visage.

I think he means now that Dota 2 has its own engine there will be a lot of hero mechanics that could not be coded in WC3. Eventually Icefrog will add heroes that won't have a counterpart in Dota 1 simply because of the engine limitations.

I think Visage is heavily punished in the current meta (7.25-7.26) I feel it in every game where gold and exps mechanics were changed. Still, Visage as a mid means playing in a huge timer. And Visage as a support still gives a strong foundation to any carry.

If you get fed in any the two games it gets tough, in dota if you get fed early, your character is most probably the type to be going to scale down lategame and in dota, you can shutdown any hero with good co-ordination. If someone gets fed in dota, and doesn't win before the enemy gets max lvl and full builds, they too can turn around. You simply need to know what to do and do it successfully to turn around a game of dota but its extremely difficult most of the

Exactly, if you build him right. But keep in mind though that this works best when against burst damage heroes -Lina, Tusk, Lion, Nyx, etc.-, and if you are facing heros that deal damage in great quantity, even if it's minimum (read: Troll, Pudge's rot, Drow, ESPECIALLY SLARK and so on) your passive is pretty much wasted. So if you want to play a tank Visage you must keep in mind which enemies can or cannot fuck you up. Pretty much like not picking Skywrath against pugna and all that meta stuff

It's not a bug because teleporting to base is not as simple as in lol. To tp you either need a tp scroll, which can't be used with hook or another hero. If pudge was w chen, then chen would cast his tp spell, and pudge can hook BUT the tp has a delay of cca. 3 seconds, which means you need to hook someone in precisely the given time, and it takes a LOT of skill to time it right. The other method is with wisp, which gives you more time, but is more difficult. Not a bug, pure skill and teamwork.

We dont have names for the different builds but we dont have names for them. Its all situational for us. As u probably kno, there are 3 stats agi, str, and int. Sometimes we build different stat items on a completely different stat hero because it helps. We dont have a ad or ap but we can build a hero to utilize different things. Dota heroes are never built the same way every game, and every build is viable as long as it fits the situation and the team start. I cant go into detail because there

Ummm, he was actually very used in Dota competitive play, when trilane vs trilane situtations were popular. That nuke is that so strong, after you get Arcane boots on him.... Heroes will go down and let's not forgot his pushing power + slow.

Its not really a bug though. Pudge hooks a guy, then drags them to his position. If he gets teleported, then tough luck, the target will still get dragged to his position.

In d2 visage is weaker than in d1: familiars attract aggression from creeps and neutrals, meaning they often die while simply travelling in woods. Also axe and omni instantly pwns them. And they auto attack, wasting their bonus damages. They require more time to fly from stone form. The range of his nuke is reduced while chasing (in d1 the cast was "more instant", now visage sometimes won't cast it). The model is bigger and easier to click

Yeah, first point in your passive and an early medallion of courage will remedy that. You should always try to max out your passive skill first with him.

Yes there are the given masteries and summoner spells that are the best for a champion but there are atleast 2 more ways to play him. Also Dota heros have 4 abilities ( usually ) and lol have 7 ( i am counting all passives ) and there are lol heroes with more, but there are dota heroes with more. The diference is that dota has atributes which doesn't let you go stacking a ton of agility an intell hero ( i know you can get some for the armor ). But the reason they are both complex is:

Real money can't be used to buy runes in LoL (although you can buy runepages). Runes can be only purchased with IP, a currency rewarded at the end of each game.

I liked the old visage better. Creating swarms of weak familiars that powered your passive (Soul Assumption) which gave you health regeneration and +96 damage (at max level), getting higher attack speed with Grave Chill to use your +96 damage. Also the cloak healed your allies if they damaged you. All in all, he could still support and his abilities synergized better in my opinion, he was razor but more focused on pushing and being anti-AoE. Now he is way too hard to manage.

That really is a bug because it utilizes his long and impossible range with some items, making it gain an extra abilities or range. We had the same problem. Blitzcrank, could use Flash over the wall or into his tower to pull others into tower range for first blood. That is unfair because the pull already creates and advantage. Also, Skarner + Teleport + Ultimate to teleport his targets right into a Summoner Platform (Well). The games are basically PvP, not PvT (terrain)

Probably the hero I perform best with, just had 19 kills and 3 deaths with him. Massive armor for survivablity and the minions to stun people attacking you. And then your nuke and slow work greatly with him as well.

Well the think is with meepo you stay passive until level 6, so you dont need to be good at last hitting and then you wander into the jungle. Which means last hitting obviously isn't to do and the chance of ganks and harass on you is lower in general pubs. For Pub play it should be enough to kill the entire jungle with meepos fast farming speed and you are already outleveling the enemys. Basically you win by farming, while with mortred/spectre you have to last hit very good to get your farm.

Not at all, just put your finger in shift and do your magic. Visage has to do walk/attack with both hero and units while timing his gargoyle stun and using soul assumption and grave chill, both low cooldown abilities. Much harder then using nets, poof and right clicks.

Before voting me down pls read this to the end, I am a LoL player and I rly like it and I like DOTA 2 also and i don't have the urge to trol dota 2 videos that something is copied from LoL cuz I believe that both games are made by creative people and I bet all of them were playing original DOTA at one point and when someone of them learned the ability of hero in DOTA it remained somewhere in his/her brain and ofc they are similarities between DOTA 2 and LoL.
