I remember some of these stories from when you performed them in English! I’ve been using your Japanese videos as a language study tool (the Japanese subtitles make them especially useful), so I think your Japanese is great! 😮

アラマー 面白かった! I am learning Japanese by watching your videos, and I agree that to an American your Kansai-ben sounds legit!

サンシャインさ〜ん!私も大阪に住んで26年になるけど、関西弁がとくに河内弁まったくわからないし、大阪生まれじゃない事がバレて、いつもエセ関西人と言われるよ。😅 エセ関西人とは…Ese Kansai dialect A word that imitates the Kansai dialect, which is different from the so-called authentic Kansai dialect. It often refers to a subtle unnaturalness of speech, such as when a person who is not from Kansai imitates the Kansai dialect.のことだよ。😅😅😅😅😅

日本人のほとんどは日本が特殊な国だと言う事に気づいていない。日本のTVでは本音の会話は殆ど無い。

I live in Tokyo, I totally understand your feelings. I’ve only been in Japan for a total of 4 years 😂 you really notice it right away. The other flip side of it is when they don’t expect you to speak Japanese and when they do they drop their guard and start speaking Japanese at really fast and complex, then you have to go back and ask them to slow it down or remove some of the millions of layers of keigo 😅

落語家・桂三輝 just realised how bad my English was in that last comment sorry 😅 yes I completely agree! I’m not entirely sure why but the same interaction face to face or over video is so much easier.
