The main issue is the strongest move practically kills you and on time out the game counts how many characters were defeated. So even if you manage to take out a Gogeta with two saibamen you can easily be timed out by their remaining characters.

Goku protected Earth, Vegeta didn't get his wish on the balls. Depends on perspective, I suppose. However, in terms of "Beat the other guy until they cannot fight" Yamcha lost to the Saibaman because he turned his back and relaxed when it was still capable of standing and hurting him. in BT3, they don't have any penalty. In SZ, they have like a 20% charge nerf instead of 50% like everyone else. Also, Androids used to have no penalty in BT3, but now their passive charge is slower underwater.

Legacy of Goku 2's scouter said their cells are similar to plant cells, and DBZ Kakarot includes Piccolo in meal scenes, but he specifically only drinks water, but those are just games. In the anime, they are shown to have small crop fields, so they are eating SOMETHING. And Toriyama-Sensei insisted that they are not plants in multiple interviews.

It has 2 different animations, one when youre on the ground and one when youre in the air. The beam/ball deflect is the one in the air. You can also use super perception on rush like attacks, your character will vanish and knock the guy away You will also get a ki charge buff for a few seconds after doing it

My control for switching out was L3+R3, I swapped that with emote so now its L3 for switch-out, R3 for transform. Still a little finicky on actually working but more reliable than trying to panic-press both buttons simultaneously.

for the switching thing, when u try to switch u have to click R3 and then click L3 because if u do L3 first it gives u emotes, but u can also just change the button layout in the settings, i just switched it so L3 is switch and both together is emotes
