I find your videos very useful, but I do not quite like the a piece of advice that you give in this one. When you are sending an email from gMail to Evernote, your advice is to forward it to your Evernote email account. That might be your only option from other email clients, but from Chrome (the one that you mention in the video) you can use the Evernote add-in for Chrome (the green elephant icon on the upper-right corner of the browser). You can use this add-in to send either an email or a web page from Chrome to Evernote. You can, right then and there, choose the Evernote notebook where you want to store it and even add tags. It works pretty much in the same way that the ToDoist add-in that you show in this same video. Best regards and congratulations for your excellent videos.

I got a new phone. While installing and updating apps, I'm not-happy from a security perspective with the amount of access required. These apps request virtually unlimited access and control over my info in the permissions to use these apps. I'm concerned. Developers are just guys whose ethics and honesty I know nothing about. Does any group vet these apps? Shouldn't the potential security concerns be considered when talking about how much of MY info the apps can "share?" I hear big warning bells.

Love the show, but this seems to be a complicated means of organization. I am not sure I get the jumping between apps, though. It seems to be overly complex. For instance, if you are sending the bill to Evernote in order to not file it in email, why create a reminder in Todoist? Why not set the reminder in Evernote and delete the email? Also, not seeing the efficiency of using Todoist and Asana? It would seem that you are now having to check in on multiple apps. I did try out Sunrise Calendar again and like it. I cannot use it because of its lack of Exchange support. But, you can accomplish the same concept, though a little different, but subscribing to these apps via iCal or Outlook or Google Calendar. What are your thoughts?

I have looked but could not find on your KZbin. I have watched different Google apps. My group of volunteers help veterans that are at home and we do what ever to assist by running errands outside the house. If I am adding a veteran to my list I am also putting all information in a file, address, all contact info. Would also like to have a calendar for days of visit done and also set future date and connecting all information of what is done and list of demands. Google is attractive because it has free apps. The other part is I would like to share all information with group. There will days where others can check calendar for the activity for the day and see all information and what is to be done. Please advise.

Thanks Steve! Your thoughts on using only Evernote as a task manager? Using the Web clipper to get the email to Evernote (rather than the email address) and a Zapier zap to link the Evernote reminder to your calendar. Your thoughts? Thanks for the great content on your channel!

Hi Steve really enjoying your videos, as I was watching this particular video I was reminded that I'm constantly looking for a good app that has a Calendar, tasks/lists, reminders and notes all in one thats free for iphone, at the moment I have wunderkind a bunch of other separate apps but I really want one that includes everything in one but I've had no luck in finding one that does this. I know you mention you sync everything back your email but I don't really need that feature, I just need the calendar, reminders and tasks or lists or notes can you recommend a good free app for iPhone that has all 3 functions please? I looked for sunrise to see what it was but I believe it doesn't exist anymore - TY!

Hey Steve like your videos and yet this makes me think perhaps you are using too many "productivity" applications. I guess that by the time you take the time to do all the syncing, filing, etc to various platforms, these apps might actually reduce your productivity. Don't you think you are overcomplicating things in the name of technology? Not a criticism, but would really like your perspective....perhaps a video on the subject? Thanks!
@dottotech
@dottotech 9 жыл бұрын
SwissGator Thanks, do not take it as criticism, so no worries there! I agree many people use too many apps which is often counterproductive. the goal of this demo was to show how to lank any apps you do use, it ca be just 2, or more, I show a lot in this demo not because e I recommend you use that many but to show how different conduits work. Good suggestion for a video however!

Thank you for posting your very informative videos. I get a lot out of watching them but find that I am half way though one video then you suggest / refer your audience to previous video about that app. A video I would find useful is a video about youtube. I watch one of your older video's then download an app only to stumble across a new video with a newer and better app. I believe you can create video watching list, I would like to be able to watch your lastest and greatest then work back etc. Also you recommend todolist, is it because its 'better' then anydo, wunderlist and googlekeep. You may have already made reference to this so please forgive me you have, but its nice to know you are comparing apples with apples. I am very naive when it comes to apps which is why I love your videos but I'm not sure what the shelf life of an app is these days. Regards Tuguy
@dottotech
@dottotech 9 жыл бұрын
Tuguy Esgin I will think about how I could make it more clear which videos are most current. I do not think any app of the ones you mention are "ether" they all just have their own strengths and limitations. that is what the voids are for, to show those features.

Chris Patten-Walker I did not know it had issues on the 4, I still use a 4S and it works fine. As to the premium features, yes, they do charge for the best features, but to me I am grateful, I want to see a sustainable business model behind the apps I use.

As a pretty minimal evernote user I guess I'm just not fully understanding the need for it in this use case. It might be just my lack of understanding behind evernote. I guess the main reason I am a fairly minimal user is that I haven't seen evernote be anything other than a file repository that has deep search capabilities. I definitely enjoy Sunrise though, that is one thing I wish Google would work on, their Calendar app is certainly lacking.
