Nice to see a video that shows layout of the pedals/snare etc, most videos assume you already know that, which wasn't the case!!!

I’m so glad you found the video helpful! It’s true-sometimes videos skip over those basic setups, but they’re so important, especially when you're just getting started. If you have any other questions about your drum layout or anything else, feel free to ask! Keep rocking! 🥁😊

Thank you. My double pedal didn't come with a user manual or anything like that so I was losing my effing mind trying to get the double pedal to play nice with the snare stand. I did have the shaft on the near side of the snare stand but the screws were getting stuck on the snare stand. So then I tried putting the snare on the other side of the shaft but there was just no humanly possible way to set it up comfortably.
@drummereub2 ай бұрын
That sounds so frustrating! Double pedals can definitely be tricky to set up, especially without a manual. One thing you could try is adjusting the positioning of your snare stand height and angle so it doesn’t interfere with the pedal shaft. Some drummers also shift the snare stand slightly to the side or angle the left pedal just a bit to get more clearance. It might take some trial and error, but once you find that sweet spot, it’ll feel a lot more comfortable. If you can, check out online diagrams or videos that show different setups-sometimes seeing how others position their gear can spark a new idea. Hang in there, you’ve got this! 😊🥁

thank you for making this video, it makes sense to some of us drummers with XYLOPHONES on their set, but not always to the learning drummer

I’m really glad you found the video helpful! Yeah, when you’ve got more complex setups like xylophones or other percussion, things can get tricky. I always try to break it down for drummers at all levels, but I totally get how it might not always click for everyone learning the ropes. If you ever have specific questions or need something explained differently, feel free to ask. Keep rocking that unique setup! 🎶🥁

Hey! I want to buy another bass pedal to build my own double pedal, but can different pedals become a double? Or I need to buy the same brand? Nice video!
@drummereub2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! As for your question, it is possible to mix different pedals to build your own double pedal, but it can be tricky. The key is to make sure the pedals are compatible in terms of size and how they connect. Ideally, using the same brand ensures smoother integration, but if you're set on mixing brands, make sure the drive shaft (the bar that links the pedals) works with both. It might take a bit of trial and error, but with the right adjustments, it can definitely work. Good luck with your setup!

My problem is with my Pearl Excalibur the left pedal is hitting metal to metal on the round nut directly below it, attached to the base. I adjusted the chain back a little but it lost its sound. Is there another way to stop the collision of the pedal to the bass
@drummereub2 ай бұрын
I am not familiar with a Pearl Excalibur pedal. Never heard of it! However, on most pedals there are adjustments that would help with the issue you described. Usually it would be a pedal height, and/or beater angle adjustment.

How do I position the hi hat with the left food double bass pedal?

Just place them as close together as possible, so your foot can quickly move between them.

seems like the legs on your snare stand are much smaller than the ones on mine. Can you share what size that stand is?
@drummereub Жыл бұрын
It's just a regular Pearl snare stand. The only ones I've seen with longer legs are made for standing snare height. What kind do you have?
@jersmith1486 Жыл бұрын
is there a way to adjust how far apart the beaters are? mine are too far apart for my edrum kick pad.
@drummereub Жыл бұрын
That might be possible depending on what kind of pedal you have.
@peerlessrecords62362 жыл бұрын
great tutorial! just one question, I see you're using the same double bass pedal for your e drum kit like I do. Why is there a second spring? I mean you already have 2 springs on the right pedal, one for each beater, why is there another one on the left pedal? That gives me double spring tension so I would have to loosen both of them to fit them the spring tension of the single right spring which is rlly hard to do..
@drummereub2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I don't really use the second spring. This is the only double pedal I've ever seen with an extra spring on the left pedal. I assume it's there so you can increase tension on the left pedal, but why? Maybe in case the left pedal lags.

Hi. Glad for a fresh video. I've been searching for info on stroke adjustment for the same pedal. It's got adjustment measures on the rocker hub, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to adjust within the smile on the hub or the shaft in the hub? I cannot understand how if the adjustment is within the smile on the hub it remains stationary from the center of gravity within the smile. My kicks keep slapping my shin
@drummereub3 жыл бұрын
I think I understand what you're saying. It's difficult to explain. The beater angle adjustment is what you need.

what I don't understand is how do you attach the pedal to the actual kick drum tower
@drummereub3 жыл бұрын
Your pedal should have a clamp with a wing nut that can grip the bottom of your kick tower.
