Try spraying your bobby pins with hairspray, it helps keep them in place. I hope this helps 😉

They usually stay in place better if your hair hasn't been washed that day and make sure you're not using the kind that are really cheap, they tend to slide out more.

Get professional bobby pins and then crisscross them. I used to use just plain drugstore bobby pins, but when I got professional ones from Sally's, my life was so much better! lol (I'm a ballerina and I need so much support in my bun)

What you could do is tie up the two hair sections with elastics or scrunchies before you start braiding, so the braid is where you want it to be, and take the scrunchies out once the braids are done

You should try purple shampoo, I've heard the one from John Freida is very good and not too expensive. Also other anti-brass toners and shampoos would do you some good. :)

Yes to the purple shampoos-- but use conditioner instead! I have an ombré I've been growing out for over a year and it gets super brassy if I don't use purple conditioner as a leave in! In my opinion-- the John Freida one actually works better than the Clairol Shimmer Lights, which is a product I can only ever find at Sally's. John Freida is usually at my local Kmart, but it's also easily found online. Hope this helps!
