I love gauze...it' s durable...Joann sells the one I use ...it's name is "bubble gauze". I wash my gauze in warm and dryer hot heat...no issues like some would think....✅

Did you FMQ this gauze backing as I know in the others you did not. I just purchased some for a queen quilt I am making for my bed. I guess I could just stitch in the ditch after quilting and it should be fine since it will be the fence rail pattern.

where did you get it Anna? if it is the "bubble gauze" from Joanns then you only need one layer....It's hard for me to say if it is another brand of gauze because I can't see and touch it🤷🏻‍♀️

Looks nice but eventually the loose weave will break down after several washings. I would not make a quilt that could not be washed and dried repeatedly without falling apart since I make useable quilts rather than art quilts.

I made my scrumb quilt with gauze backing and it is my fav quilt...been washed over 50 plus times...with me and my granddaughter using it all of the time...it's our go to quilt...NOT ONE snag...tear...nothing🤷🏻‍♀️ And I wash med heat and full on heat dryer🤩 It's an art and useable quilt for sure...you should try it...❤️

All of you are talking about gauze but the only gauze I can find near me is that kind we make spooky floating ghosts for Halloween. Cannot work for backing or binding, I can stick a finger thru the weave. So where do I find it, not at my 3 local Joan's or Hobby Lobby. Help everyone.
