Houses are so much to maintain whereas townhomes are usually newer construction. Townhomes typically have HOAs who do all the yard work and have community living areas where you get to know your neighbors vs a house can be lonely. I agree a house is a better thing but since he’s all by himself he doesn’t need a big house to maintain all alone.
