FUCK YEAH GOJIRA. Fucking Backbone makes me want to headbutt a gorilla everytime I hear It. I'm so here for this. 🤘🤘 The entire album really is worth a listen. The flow from one song to the next is really important in their music. I don't typically listen to full albums, but there really is something special about their album "The Art of Dying".

Pray at Red Rocks was the song that solidified my love of Gojira! One of the best live recordings I've ever seen. Low Lands, also from Magma, is a great vibe song and one of Gojira's most emotional, as I believe it was written about the loss of Joe and Mario's mother. Cheers🤘

Hey hey Daddy Goose...Born in Winter is one of the best songs in their catalog...When they pull back a bit they create some of the most atmospheric metal music...And Backbone is a stone cold classic Gojira tune and when they play it live the pit explodes... I've seen them 8 times now the last time was about 3 months ago in Maine bc I live in New England...They put on the BEST show I've ever seen and pour every ounce of energy into each song they are true Metal G.O.A.T.E.S. 🤘🧐✌️

It’s best to think of gargantuan sea monsters rising out of the ocean when you hear some of their riffs - especially off the album From Mars to Sirius. I don’t think it’s accidental.. their name is Gojira after all. Backbone has some of that vibe.

Cool reaction by the way ..and you're right Backbone , it's a nighmare marathon for the right hand at the guitar ,and the miidle section , you have to follow the bpm of the double kick ..your forearm is already burned by the triplets galop of the main riff ..you have to do that twice ! Gojira songs are not difficult on the left hand , no shred or complicated stuff , but you need a damn endurance and a great precision on the right hand . But yeah i understand the confusion .because the transition is very brutal ..with the blast beat ..but gojira songs ,you need multiple listen sometimes and you have to ckeck out them live .;it's a different experience...and remember you switch beteween albums that have 8 years between them , each gojira albums has a different flavor and procuction.

Backbone is one of those constructions that do well live before a big audience or when mowing a big lawn of grass. Born in winter is suitable for any place and time, even on a sunday morning while grinding your coffee beans:-)

the next Gojira suggestions I’d say Gojira - Art of Dying and Gojira - Where Dragons Dwell. Been a fan on Gojira for 7 years since 2016. They are my favorite band. I really love their music an I like how on each of their songs an the album artwork really tells you the main concept of each album. Each album has a story behind it💙

Two songs of theirs that put me in a weird place are Born in winter and Le' Enfant Sauvage. Don't get me wrong. They are good songs and a lot of Gojira fans really like them, but for me both of them just seem to be missing a good minute or two of material that would have made them feel like complete songs. Based on your reaction to these two, I'm thinking that two Gojira songs that you would really love would be Mouth of Kala Lowlands official video

I love how you refer to main riff in Backbone as the "slow" one (in reference to the middle blast-beat part of course), but that riff still has those super fast gallops which are so exhausting that when I try to play it on bass my right hand is already gone before I even reach the "fast section" lmao

Love the double song format. Born in Winter is a great song indeed, although i rarely go back to listen to it… Backbone is a good track, although not a huge fan of their sound on this record, hence why i like the live version much much more. That’s the thing with them, they have so many tracks which are simply a better experience than the studio versi9n. Backbone live at Brixton for example is incredible while studio is just meh, but that’s again, due to the mixing and overall sound. Next up i’d say Explosia live at Brixton together with Wisdom comes, also at Brixton. Cheers!
