Nice trick! I had a idea for a slight modification: instead of saying "the nine of hearts is going to help me find your card", I act as if I'm just using a random example card: "in a moment you're going to spell out your card's name - so for example, if your card was the nine of hearts you would go:" - then spell it out, and casually turn up the 9H - "see, there it is. Now you try it with your card."
