Hey Dr. Ghosh! Thank you SO MUCH for posting such great content. I am currently taking Molecular biology online and my professor doesn't give the students much to work with with the power-points that he posts. Your videos are straightforward and give me clarification on all of the things that I am trying to learn/understand. You're the best!!

Dr. Ghosh, Thank you for this great content! I have a question. If double strand break occurs by Cas9, do DNA strands break uneven? or exactly blunt? I want to know how CRISPR/Cas9 system knock out gene expression exactly.
@DrArindamGhoshBiochemistry
@DrArindamGhoshBiochemistry 3 жыл бұрын
Nothing special about cas9 it's just a nuclease like any other nuclease. So the double stranded breaks are uneven and repair is error prone :)

Sir, does trimming of the end and ligating leads to loss of dna information, even if breakage is dna at gene can leads to inactivation of gene?

Doesnt it mean that there are genes missing.isnt that dangerous since its like a mutation where parts of a gene are missing?
