Wow! Melody is growing up before our eyes on this channel. She does a great job in this review!

True. She also seems like a real challenge for Tom now! xD

So glad you reviewed this game. It does not get the attention it deserves. Played it at a mates place (original). Took forever to hunt down a copy. Eventually got my hands on a GMT version and the production values are sadly not as good. But I still love the game. It’s one of my Top Ten faves.

I'm not usually much for 2 player games but I think I'd enjoy this one.

Wow. 8.5, thats a gold seal of approval. Strangely, Shutup & Sitdown were not too enthusiastic about this game in their review. Looks awesome to me. I bought and cant wait for it to arrive. Now i just need to find someone who will play it with me!

Hi, is it a nice game with good longevity? I am a fan of jfk and the 50s. I am very interested in the game for the US election system. But I'm not a board game expert. Should I find out how to do it? Is it worth it?
@Razorgirl3 жыл бұрын
@energylife If you’re into 1950s history and culture then you’d probably enjoy seeing the event cards hit the table (in ways others may not fully appreciate) because each card is an event that actually occurred. You don’t need to be an expert. The game is easy to learn, and then it’s up to you to work out how to be strategic with what you play when. Only practice will help that. The only problem you’ll have is tracking down a copy. I played this with a mate and fell in love with it, and it is not an easy game to find! Hope you can track it down, I think you’ll enjoy it.

They need to make a 2016.

Unlikely since Campaign Manager 2008 (a great game) flopped super hard.

Yea but that's 2008. 2016 makes House of Cards look dull.

I was thinking that too, but it definitely wouldn't be family friendly.

Someone tried but they had to stop the production due to some issues they where having. www.kickstarter.com/projects/havefun/presidential-election-the-board-game looks cool though.

Does Marilyn Monroe and The Bay of Pigs / Cuban Missile Crisis feature in this game ? i think I may get it if so from a historical POV but i'm guessing the game is set before these events during election time.
@scottdaniel52697 жыл бұрын
Everything is related to the election itself, so those do not appear.

Tom... Twilight Struggle, 13 Days the Cuban Missile Crisis or 1960 the Making of the President? (I ask, because I have 13 days, but I don't know if this will scratch the same itch, and if gameplay/mechanics are enough different to justify getting it too...)
@brogantrull7 жыл бұрын
Raúl Chávez twilight struggle is like a better, much longer, more strategic 13 days (own and play both)
@brogantrull7 жыл бұрын
There is only one reason you should ever play 13 days over twilight struggle and that is if you can't find someone to sit with you for 1.5-3 hours to play twilight struggle
@PeIon3167 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Brogan. The thing is, I really only play games at home with my wife, and she's new to the hobby, and not into über deep, long strategy games just yet. I know TS is a much richer experience than 13Ds, but certainly is out of the question right now. That's why I wanted to know where this one (1960) falls between those two. Even not being american, I find the theme and the mechanics quite interesting...
@brogantrull7 жыл бұрын
Raúl Chávez no worries! I bought 13 days because my wife will not play twilight struggle with me, except for once in awhile, because of the time commitment. I do recommend playing twilight struggle at least once if you can find someone who already has it or at a board game store. It is a lot of fun! I also would like to know what you think Tom about 1960 vs twilight struggle and 13 days. Is it an in between length or more towards one or the other?

Tom, if you already own a copy of the zman edition in very good playable condition, how necessary would it be to buy this?
@FinnCanDo857 жыл бұрын
I think the old Z-man version looks much better. Kind of weird that they moved to this cartoonish version. It seems to me there's no reason to get the new version if you have old one, very minor changes (except the art)
@crybabypippo7 жыл бұрын
so weird that the photo of nixon used very prominently throughout this game is a photo from 1971. non-anachronistic pictures of nixon would not have been hard for the artist to come by. baffling choice.
