Today I'm showing you how you can build the perfect and best simple highway interchange without mods & DLC's in Cities: Skylines.
The intersection will serve 4 directions and has a very satisfying traffic flow.
Graphical Mods:

Dynamic Resolution - Better Graphics (only used for cinematics)
Daylight Classic - Brings back classic white daylight color
This is a family friendly tutorial for Cities: Skylines. (pg clean)

Since you are asking for what else we would like to see: I am really interested in a highway interchange that also functions as an entry and exit for the highway from all of the four quarters of the crossing. It would probably be large and complex though!

Since it is only 2 levels of roads you can upgrade all of them to elevated type and put a roundabout on the ground level, then just connect whichever parts of the highways to this roundabout and add some road to the city - I did it with improved cloverleaf type - works pretty well. As an addition i did not allow these roads that come to the roundabout from the highways to use it to go back to the highway - they can only turn to the city; the city leaving cars can go wherever they want (traffic manager). I'd post a screenshot, but it seems that youtube is deleting anything with a link...

Stacked interchange with frontage roads with four slip ramps (sort of a diamond) at the end of each interchange. U-turns at the end of the ramps connecting to the stack ramps allows traffic to circulate to and from all quarters of the city off of and onto the highway. Michigan DOT has already thought of this! Routes I-75 and I-696 in Royal Oak, Ferndale, Hazel Park, and Madison Heights, MI where the four towns meet. Another one on Rt. I-696 at Mound Road just a few miles east in Warren.

The way that one trumpet has the ramps go over the highway and the other one has the ramps go under the highway is such a subtle but amazing detail.

We had many of these intersections on the Dallas/Fort Worth Turnpike which was finally paid off after 50 years of collecting tolls. It took 25 more years before most of the double trumpets with tollbooths were replaced with either stack intersections or diamond intersections at smaller roads.

Very nice. Could do a bit of lane maths for vanilla/console to help the traffic AI. I reckon you might even be able to do a small service area in the larger bit by the toll booths (might need to have the junction a bit larger in footprint for that though...). Excellent build again fella!

An observation I made while watching this video is that the huge, empty space inside the double trumpet could be turned into a commercial district or something via a separate road coming under the highway overpass. At least, that’s what I would do to maximize space in my city

i like the desing. only thing i recomend for improvment: lane math. slim down the highway where u got exit lane till entrance lane. also improves vanilla traffic ai, cause that way the offlane actually gets its own lane without trafficmanager or lane manager

There are some Double Trumpet Interchange (IC) like this in my country. There are Bitung IC, Tangerang IC and Waru IC (now Spaghetti IC). Although, they connect the toll road and the arterial road.

Love the idea and design. My only issue with this setup is that you used highways and ramps that are 9u high. Unfortunately in Vanilla, this means streetlights will pop up through the roads. 12u is needed to make sure streetlights have clearance.

Using mods is the easier way. You can build the central part (i mean the loop) of the interchange with mod Network Multitool.
