Hi Bob. I have a Verdict DTI that needed a replacement spring lever. The original was the plastic one that they used for cost reduction and they split. Rang Verdict and was told they no longer repaired my version as it was obsolete, however, they did supply me with springs and two screws & nuts that hold the ratchet stylus in place. Cost me about as much as a second-hand DTI.

Thanks Bob and John: As I commented in one of your earlier videos you've given me some encouragement to dig into a few I have around here that are (as you might say) Knackered. Hopefully I'm using that term correctly :-) Thanks

Fussy little things, it seems. Any thoughts on using a plunger type indicator with one of those little lever assemblies to get into tight spots?

I had no idea those had a helical movement. I'm surprised I never had the curiosity to inquire. I just figured it was gears.

99% of the time the stylus length won’t matter as you are only using the dti as a comparitor , that is why if you need to actually measure something like the thickness of a piece you set up a stack of gauge blocks and zero the dti to it and then you would pay attention to the stylus length and angle if you needed dead nuts accuracy . Another rippa video mate !

Shouldn't this be Part 7? would Bob repair a Chinese DI and DTI from Little Machine Shop. I would donate them if Bob can repair them and you could give them away on the SNNC.

the lesson would be so much better, if you had all the items you tell us about... i don't understand this bluetack stuff... likening it to another name brand product i have never heard of is really of no help.... seeing it in action would certainly explain a lot.. you show us the hairspring, but how does the lever activate the spring?... some better close ups would also help... i realise it is all very simple for you and i appreciate your efforts to enlighten us... but after watching your video for the third time, i still feel i am very much in the dark, and hesitant to open up my first stylus dti

hi ok will show you the proper stuff witch I have just received in action witch spring the one that operates the lever or the pretention spring as to close ups the camera is pre set and that's johns department regards bob
