The thing I think people brush over too is saying it’s just the pop tart bowl. Why care about him leaving at halftime? Well why even start the game to begin with? The record was what he was chasing (I don’t blame him I’d chase it too). Also with people saying it doesn’t seem like it’s his choice and it was the plan all along i have 2 problems with. If it was his choice, that’s even worse. If it wasn’t, why not fight that choice from the coaches and say I’m playing the whole game? Not really any good way to spin it and make it look good. I’m sure cam ward is a great guy, but the optics of this look horrible. It looks very selfish for the record and the fact the game was close adds even more negative connotation to it. Also if you want to see emori Williams, why not give him 4 quarters instead of 2? You get more evaluation if he plays the entire game

I do blame Ward for quitting. The NIL contracts should require that they play through all the bowl games or get nothing. Ward is a bum. He’s why we need an NFL Farm League so guys like him can go play for them. I love CFB because of school loyalty. I don’t love it for the draft or for the college playoffs. FSU could of beat the narrative last year that they weren't deserving, eben with a well fought loss,but instead the players acted like brats and proved Herbstreit and ESPN right. Their actions crippled the program. Nobody will remember what Ward did in the silly Pop Tart bowl in a month. 63-3 is in the history books forever. Norvell preaches to them that if you work and do the right thing and you'll get rewarded. Obviously that didn't happen. FSU players didn't get their way and sat in a game that could of meant something. Trying to say that the Orange Bowl vs UGA was meaningless is insane. It didn't matter for that season but it mattered for the program long term. Look at the repurcussions of that embarrassment. Losing like that absolutely mattered. Those guys let the program get humiliated because things didn't go their way. None of them had a chance of being drafted in the 1st round besides Verse. The Pop Tart Bowl was completely meaningless on every level. It had zero significance. Losing that game does no damage to Miami's program. It makes him look selfish but that's it. The Orange Bowl made FSU and Norvell, not the players, look pathetic. It will take years to fix that. It's insane to me that people think what Ward did waa worse. The damage done is not even remotely comparible.
