I can understand them having to keep making something every number of years so they do not lose the rights, but do they have to make movies? Could they have not aimed for a short film or something? That way, they hopefully make a better movie since they have to tell their story efficiently and get out of there. If they did make a movie, they should have at least got people that are known for making decent movies on a budget. I would have liked to see what a Madame Web movie made by A24 would have been like.

hmmm if they spend $75M a year for three years on crap movies and then the real marvel-led spiderman movie returns to them $500M, they're still ahead... they're basically just holding spiderman hostage for an installment plan. hopefully, this embarrassment will make sony humble enough to stop trying to steer the actual spiderman projects and to finally start putting a real big-picture effort behind the spiderman-adjacent movies they've been fumbling - but why would they? spend a few mil and make double that from the marvel entries.... hard to buck that deal

@@donnyouttheway4091 I agree, Madame Web is best utilized as a supporting character in a Spiderman project. She definitely needs to be an older woman. The title madame is often associated with older sophisticated women who have the seasoned experience that requires respect from people who meet them. @@gamestation2690The director for the Marvels originally came in with a Cyclops-Storm teamup X-Men film as a fan of X-Men and those characters in particular. Instead, they stuck her to The Marvels. It was supposed to take two years and the studio extended it to 3.5 years with reshoots and changing up the release date four different times, knowing that the director had an obligation to another project. When the work date for Marvels conflicted with her other project, she left Marvels during post-production to work on the other movie. Post-prod is the phase when the studio does the work on the film and she doesn't need to be there anyway, but they had "anonymous sources" leak to Variety to make it look like she abandoned that shit.

My favorite version of Madame Web is Joan Lee from the 90s Spider-Man the Animated Series. She was the wife of Stan Lee. In the comics, she was a side character. I speak for everyone when I say there was not enough care being put into making the Madame Web film. Sony’s only hope is that Kraven the Hunter and Venom 3 better do well in the box office. Otherwise, give the Spider-Man properties to Disney and let Marvel Studios make the characters better.🕸️🕷️

man, I remember that Madame Web character, and that weird arch from the Spiderman animated series from the 90s. I always thought she was so cool, mysterious, a little spooky. There was feeling of cosmic and eldierct, prophetic almost godmother figure to her (helps that Stan Lee's wife, Joan Lee was the voice actress) . She was prepping Parker for an awesome arc dealing with salvation of the multiverse (this was before Spiderverse or Web Warriors) Then i looked her up a few years ago, she seemed less interesting, but still some what interesting. A mutant with clairvoiancy who showed up a fewtimes to assist Spiderman or Spiderwoman or spidergirl. This lazy cash grab is insult to both. I had conceptialized my own thing for it years ago (havent done anything with it due to copyright causing a loss of interest, as well as writers block/ gernally laziness and exhaustion. Basically, I had a retake on Charlottes Web as a cosmic action horror tale using Madame web, Miles Morales, (this was before the Spiderverse films made him a house hold name) I may just revamp and sell it to Marvel, because my idea (which I loved) was deffintly better than what Sony did

9:33 (powers are never explained) 💡Idea💡 Haven't seen the movie. don't think i'll see it...maybe on streaming if it hits Netflix just to see the damage. but an idea occurs to me for an interesting spin on how they could make her powers work. They could take the Live, Die, Repeat/Groundhog's Day Model of doing things, where she has to do stuff multiple times to get good to progress And for whatever that spider-venom did to her DNA, maybe it gives her that weird multi-path probability vision, but it takes the form of spider-webs some stuff that is more likely to succeed or happen has the stronger more stable web if she proceeds along certain actions of that path. If if it's not, the web just snaps, she fails that task, she dies and has to try again. But instead of having to just doing the tasks over and over no big deal, there could be some kind of a cost and toll to all this. Maybe doing it all the time starts taking a toll on her body and she starts to age. And it makes it harder for her to do some of the tasks and things she was doing over and over again. And perhaps somewhere towards the end, she starts to loose her sight. And starts to need the help of a wheelchair or something. and somehow after dealing with whatever the conflict is, she does something that takes her out of time and space. And that she'll be watching the people connected to the web system, aka the Spider-People. And maybe we see her doing some kind of knitting project like the Fates from Greek Mythology or something or she has some kind of friend that's Adrianne (had weaving contest with Athena, got turned into a spider for her boastfulness as the rough short of it) or something. And whenever we see her in later times in Spider-Man types of projects that involves weird spider-magic connection stuff, she could be in the background or doing small knitting stuff and gives or offers the characters some kind of knitted item that is some kind of spider-weapon or something....I don't know. Was kind of rambling and was thinking of ways to save this. Was thinking maybe she could be some kind of magic version of Stan-Lee. Also I was thinking with the whole rapid aging thing, you could just use this to replace the actress with someone different from Dakota Johnson if you couldn't get rid of her for the first movie. For her additional appearances, I'd get an older actress to play Madame Web going forward. I don't think this is the fully flushed out best idea to fix the movie version. What I laid out I think relies more on the idea that they could've just changed the script and approach from the start or something. But what I threw out here, was the main thing that came to mind for me after hearing some of the bad reviews, summaries and descriptions of this movie.

People keep missing representing the car scene online...That clip was not edited like that in the movie, the clip was edited like that for online/tv spot... I was watching for that scene & it wasn't edited like that in the actual movie. She rubbed the man's back, asked him his name then got into the position we then see her in, the online clip cuts that part out & cuts to her saying her name in response to him saying his name {13:30 mins in the move}. The movie is still trash... It looks like they weren't even trying., but I heard there we're massive reshoot & re-working of the original script., the villain was supposed to be trying to kill Mary who was pregnant with Peter Parker & M. Webb & the girls were gonna try to stop him

@@assassin8636 I agree. I mean they could choose a lesser known superhero that isn't directly linked to Spiderman. All roads don't need to a direct link to Spiderman. There are so many obscure superheroes that just need a well written script, an up and coming director, and great cast. The problem is money. Producer want an insured investment but that isn't possible in this climate.
