I haven't been the biggest fan of Kevin's standups, but when I saw him in Think Like A Man in 2012, that's the thing that changed my view of him..and since then he's been making big an smart business moves, in my opinion this project is a game changer for him, yes I saw the "twist" coming but performance wise, Kev leveled up, and Wesley needs to be mainstream again, dude's presence is enough to sale tickets.

A LOT of this show is based on Kevin's version of the WORST case scenario of his life. He was SO GOOD in this because he was basically playing himself. Aside from the murder aspect, think about his life: He takes care of multiple people who depend on him, he had people close to him who LITERALLY set him up ALMOST the same way Wesley Snipes set him up, by a person who Kevin described as "like a brother", with a girl in a hotel room. We were watching a hyper-realized version of Kevin's life in this. He put A TON of his life in here. Excellent job.

Honestly, it was better than I expected. It's dumb fun. It's funny to see how shit just escalates, but it's also compelling enough that you wanna see how everything pans out, even if certain plotlines are easy to predict. Kevin Hart's not the strongest dramatic actor, but he does a good job here, and has good chemistry with Wesley Snipes. Pretty fun binge.

Yes there are plot contrivances but no script is perfect.. the show accomplishes what it's aim was and that was to take you on a mild but effective emotional roller coaster Heart and Snipes were both great and had excellent on screen chemistry. The plot twist was obvious but like with Get Out, a second watch of this series only further highlights it's genius. Once you know the truth at the heart of every single character, you realize how badly we the viewer got it wrong about so much more than we thought. Also I love the way the end feeds right back in to the beginning. Like a self-validation of a terrible un-truth.

Just finished it and let me first say, Kevin killed it! His acting was great and serious. The scenes, acting, cast, the story all good short and sweet. Now my personal issue is They did a horrible job convincing me the girl on the bed was died. I knew right away this felt like a scam. How Kevin wanted to check the body and everyone was like nope. All they show was a pill that it really saw it coming Second was while everyone acting/cast was great and the script was good I had issues. Everyone beside Kevin was extremely tedious how they were leaching off him. After ep 4 I had to take a break cuz I just hated how they were like Ari etc yes it was point and well done but I hated watching it just so eye rolling. The manger joke was the best him saying “I don’t think I can’t fuck him up” lmao the last episode was amazing and how Kevin did a crazy double head shot on the gangster like damnnnnn I rewatch that 5 time like damn Kev

I'm guessing I'm in the very small minority, but I thought this show was whack. what annoyed me a lot was the ending. these dumb mafia guys want the brothers dead so bad that they thought they could just go into the Sixers arena guns blazing, kill the brothers with cameras that should be everywhere in that facility, get away with it and avoid the cops before they surround the building. and then suddenly Kevin hart who has not shown to be a marksman in this series, just quickly headshots both the mafia dudes and didn't hesitate not even for a second to kill his own brother. now I know he said he was dead to him and what not, but still, he just shoots the guy he's known since forever instantly, I thought that was shocking.

This series is okay - fun little miniseries. Although, a toxicology report would have cleared "The Kid" name (Jesus - KH not having a real name annoyed me.) And let's be real, Snipes and Hart play ignorant hood dudes with money a little too real - because this is definitely the kind of unnecessary caper many a trapper or KH himself would find themselves within. 😅
