He can't exactly score John Wick. Most action films are trash rn, so chances are if you're primarily an action star your films going to be shite. Plus the Rock ain't Day-Lewis, no where near flexible enough to do anything different than his specific niche. Personally, I'll leave my high expectations for Dave Batista.

The “Die Hard” model has a major flaw. McClane was not a regular guy. He was a war vet (USMC tattoo) and seasoned, NYPD homicide detective. That’s exceptional and not the norm. The regular guy in Die Hard was the chauffeur-who spent most of the runtime trapped in a garage.

5 years old! Ends up being serviceable if too familiar Characters have no complexity or anything deep No denying though the scale is there and there's some intense action sequences that'll give some viewers vertigo It's preposterous and dumb in many spots but a good distraction

What Corey says here about not caring about any of the characters,is a great point,with what's wrong with today's action movies.What made Die Hard and all these oldschool action flicks so good,is that they had characters with personality.Take for example the villain in Die Hard,Alan Rickman chew any scene he was in.The guy here is so bland,it's not even funny. Hell,the side characters,like the 2 douchey FBI guys,who gave McClane shit, were memorable! Here,you could replace the entire cast with faceless mannequins and it wouldn't matter.
