Even Jamaicans said he did the accent better than Lashanda Lynch who played as Rita who is part Jamaican herself. I enjoyed this movie for what it was. I think some people are misunderstanding this movie. It's not a full blown biopic. It's a movie that talked about the most catastrophic couple years of his life and his impact on Jamaica. Even I understood that going into the movie. 8/10 from me. This movie was powerful and it moved me. What more could I ask for?

One thing we talked about when we left the theater, was what else did you need to see? Fight with manager? Every artists fight their manager. Cheating? Been told dozens of times now. Falls in love with music? Every music biopic deals with that. One Love...literally tells the story of Bob's love for Jamaica (via his music and wife). You know this because the flashbacks exclusively dealt with him falling in love with Rita (and his kids with Rita) and Jamaica (and Roots reggae) When u view this film through that lens, its a damn good film. I understand Ziggy and that he would want to write a tale about his parents. However, since Bob's death, it's as if Rita had taken ownership of the narrative, depraving us of some hard facts that belong to Marley's music making and legend. Since she was willing to participate in their non-monogamous marriage with all what it entails when he was alive, she should also have the courage to stand for it afterwards. Apart from all the details fans already spotted in the film, I remember the Central Park Concert in 1996. Plenty of Bob's kids participated, yet after Damian and Julian Marley's performances, Bob's mom introduced Ziggy and the Melody Makers as "her grandchildren". I was shocked. Does that mean that the other kids are not her grandkids? And mind you, Sharon, who was part of the Melody Makers is not even Bob's biological daughter.

The biopic is a genre that need the touch of idiosyncratic auteur filmmakers, as well as the correct pairing between filmmaker and subject. The impression that I’m getting from this one is that the director hasn’t really cultivated his own unique style. This is why I continue to (no pun intended) white knight the Elvis movie. It could’ve been routine and bland, but Baz Luhrmann had a specific vantage point from which to tell the film, and as a Baz Luhrmann character, Elvis Presley shares traits with other characters he’s written so that the film doesn’t feel like anyone could’ve made it.

I seen the movie last night and it was ok. Not great. But at least it kept me woke.

Hello gentlemen, i felt the way yawl did at first. This was marketed improperly, its not a bio pic. Its a recounting of this one album and how it. Was influenced by his shooting. Same as the march on Washington movie, in my humble opinion. I think it would been better received as a story of the one love concert or exodus album

It was okay, but they barely scratch the surface on his life. This could have been a true massive hit if they got it right.

My only problem with Ben Adir I kept getting pulled away by how big and strong he looked. He looked great and did a brilliant job but kind of wanted to see little skinny bob walk out there and become larger than life and command everyone's attention.. probably just me I'm a huge fan
